Maybe luck in some of my guesses. Assume "E" was in at first, but was having trouble making it work. I needed FOUR. BRIDE, SLATE, CHEAP, BUNCH, FINCH.

Yeah, instead of Cynic, sure. But after guessing Cynic, Bunch was no longer possible.
