Batucada beats is the name given to grooves within the samba drumming in Brazil. The batucada beat or bossa is way to enhance the samba percussion instruments , drum beats energy and emotion to the samba drumming experience. On this samba drumming video, we are able to watch many samba percussion instruments like the shaker, the samba tamborim, the agogô ( similar to cowbells), the samba surdo in a batucada warm up.
The samba beats are present in many activities of the samba drumming culture. The samba bands, samba groups, samba drumming bands, use the Brazilian Drums in a way to enhance the emotion to the listener. Today there are about 30 samba drums, and together with the arrangements of the Mestre de Bateria, they are responsible for creating batucada beats , samba rhythms, in every new carnival parade. The baterias of the samba groups, which by the way have they own nicknames, have too their own Samba drumming style. Some use the agogo in a particular way, other have different tunes of the Surdo , the tamborim, and so forth.
