Lakes and village SWITZERLAND
Bauen is a town in the municipality of Seedorf in the canton of Uri in Switzerland.
The village is located on the western shore of Lake Uri at the foot of the Bauenstöcke. The municipality includes the hamlet of Isleten, two kilometers southeast of the village, on the delta of the Isenthalerbach.
Due to its location on the lake and the frequent foehn winds, Bauen has a very mild climate, so that figs and palm trees thrive.
Above the church, which is dedicated to Saint Idda of Toggenburg, there is a monument to Father Alberich Zwyssig, the composer of the Swiss Psalm, the Swiss national anthem, who was born in Bauen.
A tranquil place to relax and enjoy.
