Bauer 20V Pole Saw AND Chainsaw Review ~ Harbor Freight

Picked up these two saws at Harbor Freight on sale. Had to take down one of my tree stands in the woods, so I decided to give them a try. Definitely give them a thumbs up!

I agree Bauer is awesome Iv been buying all the different tools and the price of the tools are 2x to 3x cheaper and very well built. Battery equipment tools are the way to go!!

Thanks for the review. Was look at the Bauer brand and was trying to figure out if they were any good. Nice video! I’m looking to get the pole saw. I already got the battery and charger. It’ll be perfect for trimming around deer stands. We use a gas one now and with battery you’ll be able to hear the guy in stand telling you what to cut.

I'm a big-time Makita guy & my buddy turn me on to this Bauer stuff I purchased the 36 volt Makita weed wacker & blower they're powerful & weed eater came with 4, 5.0 amp hour 🔋 & the blower with 2, 5.0 amp hour 🔋 I love it but the pole saw was $400 from Makita with no batteries!! Wtf Makita! That's a no-go for me. So my buddy purchased the Bauer pole saw I picked up a 🔋 & the charger & if this thing keeps up there's no way I'm buying the Makita I'll just purchase another couple Bauer 🔋🔋 call it good.

I just bought the pair as well. Was really impressed with the chain saw. The pole saw works okay…I have the 18v Ryobi as well (on loan to a friend, not sure if I’ll ever see it again 😌) that definitely works better. I do like the see through oil Reservoir

Shhhhhhh Milwaukee, DeWalt, Craftsman and a few of the others are pretty much all connected as for HF they are a threat to the others and very good tools if harbor freight sold nothing but this brand and a couple others with quality craftsmanship they would kill it. Their warranties aren't to bad but some stuff they should just not sell. To each their own.

If I were a contractor I’d go with a commercial grade tool, but I’m not. I’m a homeowner not a contractor, and I cannot justify the cost difference just to work around in my yard

I bought the Bauer chainsaw put the bar and chain on wasn't impressed with how the bar still moved even when tight so I took it back didn't even put a battery on it or use it

I worked for a dealer that sold Stihl equipment. And I own 2 Stihl gas saws. I wouldn't say these are as good as a battery Stihl, but they aren't a huge drop off from Stihl. Stihl had a little more power and more battery life. Your chain will make a huge difference. But for the cost difference it's a no brainer. You can buy 3 batteries for this chainsaw for the cost of one Stihl battery. And for just minor cutting, these saws are great.

You mean extensively leaking? It actively uses chain oil as it runs. That’s normal.

You can’t really. Just empty it every time you’re done using it. I own literally 10 chains saws. They pretty much all leak to one extent or another. Just get used to emptying when your done and use Pig Mat to store them on.

Don't overfill the reservoir or empty it when finished. They are designed to allow the oil to come out, so it's not really "leaking", it's doing what it's supposed to do. Almost all pole saws have the same issue.

@@Benefits wrong, it’s not designed to “drip” oil. It’s designed to have oil pumped through it via the gear pump. 2 choices. 1. Dump it after use. 2. Remove bar oil cap to break vacuum, reinstall. Cross fingers it stops dripping. No idea why people who haven’t the slightest clue what they are talking about feel compelled to respond with fact less opinions.

I'm actually the designer of the plastic shroud and reservoir for the Bauer version of this saw, so I think I'm qualified to explain how my design functions. I also designed the shroud for the Bauer 20v chainsaw and the Atlas 40v pole saw. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them, but I won't respond to rude comments or insults.
