I used to do that by hand in a washtub with a small shovel and garden hose. That mixer looked like it worked fine. I would have removed the chunks at the start and added water with a hose a little at a time until it reaches the proper consistency.

It was my first time using a mixer so I was learning but since then I’ve ran about 120 bags through it and it’s pretty much rock solid. The only small complaint I have is that I wish it would tilt back a little further for loading 👍👍🍻🍻🍻🍻

For anyone else using this I got a 1 gal bucket, Put 1 + half gallon of water into the mixer, started it then put in 3 50lb bags of quikret concrete mix and it worked perfectly every time

As a professional mason of 63 years I can tell you that for a matter of fact you do in fact for sure definitely with the most assurance possibly should maybe for with out a doubt more wetterer in there.

Take the big chunks out before mixing it just use a spray hose and judge for yourself how much water it needs.

Gotta do as the bag says 😂😂😂😂 but I mixed alot of mud for my dad and no mason is the same and even though. He's no laying block or brick that 2 different mud mix lol block is stiff brick not so stiff stucco is wat different lol

Always add 1/2 - 3/4 of the water to the drum first, then add the bag mix, slowly while the machine is running, then add the remaining water. Your mix is a way too dry. There should be enough water so that it flows without standing water in the mix.

Always put the amount of water called for in first, then add the mix, the instructions for these small mixers say that. turn it on and then add a shot or two of water as needed to get the desired consistency. leaving the chunks in is just asking to tear the machine up.

I'm going to assume the 2 pints of water was a random mistake friend lol. Most people that are first time DIYing really need folks to correct things so they dont cock up the works. Its usually 2 gallons are there abouts for a 80lb bag of q.crete. That said this is a great little mixer for home projects. Thanks for posting friend and gl on your future projects ✌

I'm going to assume that you are also a DIYer, says right on the quikrete website each 80 lb bag takes 6 pints of water. Always follow the manufacturer instructions, not a random lady from youtube claiming 2 gallons of water or you'll definitely "cock it up". Keep up the good work my man, have the same mixer and love it too.

I don't see any other ones, that do look similar, that have the roller support wheels. Even on Amazon . Mist it as you start it. I take the hard chunks, put them in one bag and take that bag back. I wouldn't pay for hardened concrete out of principle. Boy that is a dry mix!

How hard is the assembly, or is it already together in the box?

The assembly is really easy, about 20 minutes and the directions are very clear 👍 The only thing I did different from the instructions was mounting the motor after I had the frame and motor mount assembled, the directions call for mounting the motor to the mount and then mounting the assembly to the frame. The motor is pretty heavy so it was easier to align everything without having to fight the weight of having the motor attached 🍻🍻🍻 I also took everything out of the box so I could fit it in my car and I left the box at the store, one less thing to have to throw away.

It’s easy to assemble. I did it in about 30-40 minutes. Some parts are a little heavy which makes it harder to handle while assembling but still was an easy process.

⁠ I was hoping you were just testing out the instructions. You showed everyone how bogus the instructions are. I don’t know why they have that formula when it never works out that way. I’ve mixed 1000s of bags with machine and by hand in different weather and I always had to hose it. That dry mix you had for 4 minutes was stressing me out!! lol

I always dump half the water in, start the machine, pour while spinning, add the other half of water, add water as needed.
