Darvish throws 11 pitches... ELEVEN! And what is somehow crazier than that, he has multiple variations of the same pitch like a cutter that moves 6 inches horizontally and a cutter that moves 8 but at a steeper angle.

Yu just added a new split-two seam hybrid that has an aggressive downward and in to righty motion. If he can properly tunnel that off the other 10 pitches he has, you have no real chance at the plate.

Can you do a video on how Sean Doolittle is able to be effective with throwing a 92-94 mph fastball 95% of the time? Great video as always!
@pohorex68344 жыл бұрын
It's the rise run axis, his fastball has a lot of rpms, which keeps it in the air. He talked before with Clev about "your pitches just need to be different than the average" and Doolittle's ball seems to "rise" (maintain height) longer than most fastballs, which travel downwards much more through the zone. So most batters swing below the ball, and seeing a ball "rise" can give quite a startle
@krustykrab344 жыл бұрын
@@pohorex6834 this answer is correct for someone like Verlander, but Doolittle doesn't even average 2300 rpms - his fastball spin rate is actually about league average. However, Doolittle excels in spin efficiency, with true 12-6 spin, which makes it act like it has more rpms.

Could you to a tips with trev video like your lower/upper half mechanics ones, but about curveball/slider mechanics
@drakenorton6904 жыл бұрын
I know I'm not a professional pitcher but I am a college pitcher and what I've always been taught is that your mechanics should be the same for every pitch. Only difference would be grip and wrist angle. There are plenty of things mentally that could help when you're throwing offspeed but it varies person to person. I hope this helps a bit!
