It's 3:43 AM and I've spent the last two hours learning how to solve a few of my "How-To" paint problems. It's comforting to know there is a Master amoung us and I have the honor to watch him at will. Thank You for all of your videos that you have created. They are your legacy to us now and future generations, as well as your marvelous art. Sleepless in Ohio.

Brilliant explanation of 'why' we see it as it is .Instead of simply painting what I see , knowing reasons for the less obvious changes in values really helps Thanks

Stefan, YOU ROCK!! Many years ago while going through a tough time in my life, I started watching Bob Ross. I was inspired, but because I did not have much money at the time, I started with acrylics (I thought they were cheaper). After awhile I grew frustrated since I felt as though I were painting cartoons. I hungered for realism! Through the years I have struggled on my own until a year ago. That's when I stumbled upon your KZbin Channel. I was so satisfied by your approach & discipline, so recently I took the dive into oils; afraid but commited! I going for your Patreon Channel next. Thanks for your time, dedication, and inspiration! Here's rocking with you!

Thank you stefan for recommending the other video about checkering. It really has brought my paintings to the next level. I know you've talked a lot about going in and out of shadows but I never really knew how to go about it until now. It really ties a lot of your lessons together.

One of my still lifes I just set up was 2 rocks....This was in my feed a day later. Oh. The quartz is just texture...I tried to texture the dark divots in the rock

Ok, but how do I stop my potatoes from looking like rocks? I wouldn't have known that the rock was granite if you didn't say. That's my fault though. I try to take nothing for granite.

Where I live in Wisconsin, rocks look like potato and muffins. If I go to the garden center to buy some Rocks for my garden bed ,,they are potato and muffins. Go to Lake Michigan ,same. City will bring in land fills for the erosion, but they are brought in from another state. Or cheep now, they just fill in with concrete from all the roads they tore up..

Yesterday 3-21-22 first day of Spring ,beautiful Full moon, I looked everywhere for ROCKS, and they were all ROUND. Downy By Lake Michigan, landscaping, along the freeway, parks, Round, muffins, and very Flat pancakes is what I saw. Not giving up. Love your Homework assignments. Did some, but not 5per weekly. This is where online and your students learn the most. Most of your instructions I do know, but as you put it Brain Exercise. Thank you.
