I couldn't find proven winners here where I live. So boughtso wave petunias at the big box store and I loved the way they performed. I didn't have to deadhead them to keep them looking good. And they didn't cost as much as proven winners.

Wish I could get a hold of PW's Superbells Magic Pink Lemonade Calibrachoa. Its neat on its own, but they have an image of it combined in a hanging basket with another pink variety and soft yellow variety. Absolutely stunning.

It is one of our favorite plants as well! It does make a great combo basket but I would not plant it in a flower bed. It does much better in a basket or container.

Depends on the size of the baskets. A 12” hanging basket usually has about 5 plants, you can make 4 work and 3 if u have patience, but I do not lol

I have "generic" petunias, but the scenario I am experiencing happens to all varieties I have purchased in the past. When we get a heavy rain the flowers almost "melt" together and look horrible for several days. Is there a way to protect them from such downpours? They are in containers that are stationary, so there's that as well.

One question, toward the end of the video when you were demonstrating in your personal garden reviving your hanging basket I noticed the metal pedestal on which your baskets sat, does your company sell the pedestals? Did I miss how you know it is vegetative vs. seed ? Is it on the labels, or do you need to look them up online?

You really need to ask at your garden center. They usually don’t tell you on the tag. The price should tell you more than anything. The cost of a vegetative start is usually over a $1 a piece, which means a finished plant in a 4” pot is going to be from $4 - $8. If it is less than $3 a piece they likely came from seed. I don’t carry seed varieties anymore, they are less expensive but just not worth the effort.

As of right now, we do not mail our plants. We are looking into what that process would look like though, so stay tuned! And if you're ever in the area, we hope you'll visit.

Looking at Ball's website, the petunias I like best (and wish I could get my hands on) are Celebrity Pink, Crazytuna Cosmic Pink, Crazytuna Purple Prince, Crazytuna Star Fruit, Flower Shower Ringo Star, Peppy Pink, Ray Pistachio Cream, Sweetunia Pink Lemonade, Sweetunia Hot Pink Lemonade, and Sweetunia Rose Shimmer. I would absolutely *NOT* buy any of the Constellation series, Discoball series, Headliner Sky series, Splash Dance series, or Surprise Sparkle series. I am *not* a fan of the white splotches and white polkadots -- it looks like the flowers were all damaged in a rainstorm or diseased.

Great tips but I have self watering baskets and I feed them once a week with 20-20-20 and that’s what they get so your saying nit to use fertilizer every time I fill the baskets up

Its a good idea to rinse out with fresh water every now and then. Most self watering pots have a spill over hole, I will use some fresh water every now and then just to reset yourself back to a base starting point. Maybe once a month

That is a true red petunia. Howeverrrrrrrrr, the Proven Winner's black cherry is a true dark red supertunia. 😂

It is. Beautiful petunia but it grows very upright and does not always play nice with other plants in a hanging basket. You will find that it often grows up and then falls down.

I think what doubles are beautiful as well but all of the spent blossoms turn brown really fast and make the planter look bad. Hoping for a variety that will drop those all blossoms.

Wonderful! When you go to our page, where it says "Subscribed" you should be able to click on that arrow and it'll give you the option for notifications of "All" "Personalized" "or "None" and there you can make the adjustments. On the phone, you may need to go into your settings and allow KZbin notifications. Hopefully that helps!
