Woosh! This is something. I ordered for my GT-100 a few days ago and it is on the way to being delivered. I have never used an effect in all my years of playing. I am watching this video on repeat so I can know what to do when it arrives. The more I watch, the more insight I am having. Thanks for the insightful review sir.

I love my gt100. It has taken the place of my vg88 simply because I can use all of my axses through the unit. VG88 is great for studio but for live application you cant beat the ease of use that the gt100 brings.Talent is of course 90% of the equation, but in that remaining 10% you find great equipment, and knowledge there of. Thanks for a great vid

It's now 2020. And the Boss GT-100 is _still_ the gigging musician's best friend and best overall guitar processor. In my opinion, its even better than the new Boss GT-1000.

Great review, well done. I have had my GT 100 for a couple of years now, and still picked up some ideas from your vid. It's great for playing live when you can create a patch to sound just like the original song for both rhythm and solos. I have had the ME 30 the Gt 3 and now the Gt100 which goes straight into the PA. No lugging Fender Twins around anymore.

As a retort to an earlier comment, there are actually some really nice effects in this unit (I'm guessing Boss haven't been selling their pedals by the boatload for the last 30 odd years purely by accident), but in agreement with a few other comments, you're really locked in to the 'drive tone' with this pedal. Despite whatever amp/distortion/booster combo you opt for, you'll get the same basic low-mid heavy, compressed Tom Sholz Rockman-like distortion voicing. There's no tube-like response to picking pressure, and all the dynamics of your playing will be completely flattened out into a kind of harmonic mush. I'm going to use mine for rehearsals, but I have a Line 6 Helix for live work, as when properly set up, the Helix will pretty easily shit all over most of the other compact multi pedals I've tried over the past ten years. In the interests of balance, I also have a Boss 50w Katana combo, which is actually pretty amazing (once you figure out how to tame the excessive top end by rolling off the presence, which you can only do via the software interface).

I mean to say witch one is better at amp sims & and witch one is better at effects haha I'm sure u would of understood the message. Or are they both very similar in the tone & effects. Just ones boss and one pod. Have great day Harry. Looking forward to here your response :)

I have the gt100 and yes in this you tube it does sound digital. But you can make it as raw sounding as you want. Ex: like jcm/800/900 and goes on. And you can make it as digital as you want. That's why it's called a multi effects pedal:) and play what ever you want. Imop I think boss gt100 & pod hd500x are both great units. I just love boss gear hands down all the way. Boss is easy to make up a tone from in your head to make it to the gt100. Where I found the pod very hard tweak. You can dial in straight form unit of The boss where u kind of need a computer to dial in tones with the hd500x. The pod computer edit is up to date. The boss computer edit is a bit old. Does the same thing the settings are different. Anyway both units are good Imop but boss gt100 all the way. I just love my boss gear. Take a look at Glenn's KZbin. Enjoy

Do you know - is the send/return on GT-100 .. BUFFERED..? I see complaints on similar 4-cable method effects, that it works fine with short cables, but for live setups with 6 meter cables, they lose to much of the signal.

@eliaslucero66068 жыл бұрын
Drake Bunch i have the gt. If u want synth get the sy. The gt has a wave synth (saw, square). But you cannot control parameters as much and its not that great quality. There is other things that allow you to imitate but not nearly as diverse. Use them both in conjunction then you'll be fine. Once the price drops on the sy i'll get it

Nice demo as usual. The product seems to fail where all of my previously sold floor units failed. Basically as soon as you combine several effects etc the definition goes out of the window and drops far below that of separate real effects. Nice practice tool or cover band unit where big instant program changes are needed in preference to sound quality.

Today is 2020. If you passed by BOSS GT-100 thinking that you need AXE-FX, Helix or Kemper Profiler to get the sound of your desire, you been fooled by companies similar to apple. See the hardware that make sound is exactly the same as it was 20-30 years ago. It is still version 1.0 PERIOD! If you think you are going to be the king of the sound after buying your newest model of AXE FX then all I can tell you is that you are a hardware freak. You are not going to get better sound as the sound is limited to what our ears hear and that was achieves looonnnngg ago. BOSS GT-100 have more amp sims then yougonna use in your life, it have more effects then you gonna need in your life, it have built in guitar to midi (something axe FX dont offer), you get midi interface, audio interface, Di box, reamp box and a fking powerfull preamp for any amp of your choise in one box at a tiny fraction of actual guitar "IPHONE" made of diamonds. Check how little it cost compare to the axe FX. It does the same sht! Grab GT-100 if you want access to all these great amps at a low cost. Hook it up to FX return of any amp you have. This is the sht! Dont expect to find your favorite amp and sound immediatly.. This thing is hughe, it took me 15 months to make my sound. So many sounds this thing can make it will get you busy before you decide! Here is my final sound after 15 months of trying out everything. (Boss GT-100 is engaged at 1:00 in the video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnbbZ2CQaNVgmtU If you wanna skip the intro and hear my sound skip to 1:00 and dont forget to leave a like if you enjoyed my BIG sound at a low budget.
