It's interesting that the trains here sound the horn before they enter the station, which is similar what happens on the Baltimore metro subway.

I think the operators are required to honk the horns as they arrive at every station.

The flat-faced cab cars numbered in the 100s-900s are Alstom class-C1s, built from 1987 - 1989. The ones numbered in the 2500s are Morrison-Knudsen class-C2s, built from 1994 - 1996. The middle cars, all numbered in the 1000s, are Rohr class-Bs, built from 1968 - 1971, the same time as the Rohr class-As, the slant-faced cab cars also numbered in the 1000s.

They don't sound the horn in New York nor Boston and Washington DC.
@jrayproductions77907 жыл бұрын
That's because the motors are Star-Delta soft start motors. In other words, what you here, when they start, is the motor spinning up to get the train moving, and then settling to a normal operating speed. Plus, these are Alstom and Breda trains. The same trains are used in Atlanta, Boston, DC, and, now, New York.

How close is the Capitol Corridor from this station?

You call THAT a rush hour? WTF is that!?!
@FanRailer6 жыл бұрын
... I had to be somewhere, so I only stayed for a few trains. Also, this is BART, where rush hour means trains for each branch run on 15 min headways.

So THAT is the reason that my dad said BART is bad. And old.
