Nice, short, and fun video. I always target halis with live/dead smelt but they are often times hard to come by. I live in SoCal too... do you have a particular location/strategy when you catch these smelt?

For me, the vast majority of the time, making live bait is fairly easy. On this particular morning, it wasn't meant to be. I use the smallest sabiki possible and get them in the harbor/docks. When I do find them, I usually stock up - use live that day and freeze the rest, just in case there are times like this particular morning.
