Bayesic Training Part 13: Cloudtop Cruise 150cc Time Trial Tutorial

I once labelled this cup as the cloudtop cruise cup because of how i struggled 200cc with this when i was a noob but now i feel like i am better knowing how to dodge the bolts and yes this OST is so frickin dank and its a close second behind rainbow road's OST. Keep up the bayesic trainings these tutorials are S tier like this music!

Thanks. As you asked my first run of this course without any strategies was about 2 mins 45 seconds. I've been praciticin with the video, and after my second full run I was down to 2:17, thank you.

Cloudtop is absolutely one of my least favorite tracks because of the slippery clouds, the stupid bounce pads (one of the worst things about any track) and the fact that it promises an awesome airship section when in actuality that section is two seconds long and is just a boring O-curve. It was probably naive of me to expect a spiritual successor to Airship Fortress DS. The one thing I like about it is the skip at the very end over the leaves; it's challenging without being ridiculous and saves a bunch of time.

I’m assuming you’re talking about wild wiggler? You can pretty much use whatever you want to beat the staff ghost. I’ve got a playlist on my channel showing how to beat all the staff ghosts if you wanna check that out

The world record just revamped their mushroom lines in a way that causes a pacebreak on the 3rd lap and allowed sub 2 minutes to be possible

It’s on the roadmap but probably not until some time next year. That cut is insanely hard tho if you’re talking about doing it without a mushroom

@@Bayesic Ok, I'll prolly learn it till then. I've been trying it for hours but only got it 2 or 3 times, and then I was too far away from the waterfall, so tge mushroom didn't last. (I shroomed after the jump). But thanks for replying man.

@@leonxrdo6561 Oh I see you're shrooming through it. Yeah I mean if you're trying to copy the world record strats, the timing is really precise. I'd suggest taking the previous cut over the grass a little bit less aggressively and just shrooming slightly later on. The reason WR does it that way is so that the mushroom is being fully utilized on the ground as opposed to in the air while you're clearing the gap Just make sure to hop as soon as you land on the other side

The leaf shortcut is definitely tough. Used to be good at it on the Wii-U. I tend to just line myself up with it, instead of drifting onto it. (Just talking about this for normal races not time trials).

Bayesic can you please do a video for the advanced startegies that a battle mode player might find useful? I know that this is a channel that focues mostly on time trial, but I would like to see a little bit more diversity for different types of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players.

Gotta say, I’ve always disliked this track. But I will give it props for having a cold combo of hard sections and fun sections. The lightning bolt panels combined with the cannon respawn point are what kills it for me.
