You are right. The sponsons are bellow the deck that you see when removing the seats Specially the left side is more susceptible to hold water I mean the sponson that is on the side where the gas tanks are located If i where you i try to buy the bayliner m17 or m19

I got very concerned when I found that issue and decided to fix. And why not video the whole process for other bayliner element owners to see This issue needs to be treated as a bayliner recall to be fixed at dealership across de usa and worldwide

Have you had any issues with water infiltrating the transom where you dried the hole? It looks like wood in there.

I am very interested and looking to buy a 2025 E18. I really appreciate you bringing up this issue. I have a question. Upon removing the seat cushions and looking inside the storage compartments, you are seeing inside the hull. Wouldn't you see the water collecting in each of the sponsons and just use a wet/dry vac to get the water out? Or, are there spaces in the hull you can't see from the storage compartments?

Overall is a nice basic and affordable boat Lots of storage space and passengers capacity Good for calm waters intracoastal No offshore

Where does the water enter the hull?

Sometimes from washing the boat with high presure hose And also water ingress from the rub rail If you remove the rub rail you see screws that are probably loose

Does it get into the sponsons if the boat is left in the rain without a cover a couple times?

@@7youngke I was wondering about that too. Seems like there’s always a day here and there that rain catches you off guard when the boat is out in the open.

@@7youngke its possible if it rains a lot Sponsons shape retains water at the bottom Specially the left side where you have the gasoline tank
