Really great updates for a compact little boat. Thanks for showing me how you did it. , this video made it very clear.

I've never been on a proper fishing boat before, it seems like it would be an incredible way to spend the day with a couple of beers and some of your close friends! hope to do that myself some day!

Appreciate ya bro… Exactly what I was looking for.. 🤙🏾

Awesome! Glad it helps out and hopefully makes your fishing a little bit easier. I added two rod holders to the turboswing after this video too.

Nice video. I was super nervous when I saw that massive hole under the controls. I was thinking, "Did he really just cut that hole in his boat!?" Later I could see it was a panel that was unscrewed. 🤣

🤣 I'm so nervous cutting and drilling into things I always try to work with whats there first, thankfully just a few screws and it gives you plenty of access 👍 thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it!

@@PlanetOwner how much did that fish finder run? Also how would you rate it's performance?
@PlanetOwner2 жыл бұрын
@@johnsenese6002 it was $329 with the protective cover and it has been pretty good so far. It doesn't have any maps and you can't load any maps which is kind of disappointing but I am just on a lake so it doesn't bother me because I just set waypoints and the GPS works great. The mapping function is cool and the views of what is below your boat is great, the speed function doesn't really work over 25 mph but overall for the money without spending $1000 it most certainly gets the job done. The depth finder is accurate and the water temp feature is awesome since my wife likes to swim, definitely a solid unit for the money 👍

For those without the built-in depth finder, do you know if the wiring is still there? I think in this case I would be able to drill a small hole and fixate the finder a bit further right.
@PlanetOwner6 ай бұрын
The wiring for the depth finder is pretty simple 12v and ground from the main fuse junction. From the transducer and meter is just one harness and mine was missing from the factory so I doubt they have the existing wires from the factory. Hopefully that helps👍
@darylm63852 ай бұрын
@@PlanetOwner Mine actually had all the wiring for the original transducer that I was able to use with some hints on colors from yourself. I have a nine-inch Garmin on a ball mount that fits nicely. Looking for a trolling motor now but also curious about live-wells and so forth. Let me know if you have any thoughts on the live well.
@PlanetOwner2 ай бұрын
@darylm6385 that's awesome that you were able to use the existing wires and it was an easy install. As for the trolling motor I was able to install mine by notching out the plastic mounting bracket so the steering rod can operate properly but I usually just leave it home since I'm not the biggest fisherman. As for a live well and trolling set up I would simply build a platform for the front seating area with all the extra seating installed for the bow. Just a piece of marine wood over the entire area would supply fishing just like a bass boat in my opinion and maybe transform a cooler into a live well? Let me know what you come up with I'd love to see what you have going on🤙

Glad I found your Fishing Set Up video. I also have a m15, and was on the fence of installing a fish finder myself vs bring to a dealer/boat shop. Question, since you have completed this, any advice for the removal of the foot well, to gain access. I see approx. 6-screws and a whole lot of caulking. Was there a trick to getting it out, with all that caulking placed by the manufacturer? Also For the wholes in the transom, from the original depth transducer, How did you fill those holes prior to placing on the Stern Pad? Thanks in advance.
@PlanetOwner Жыл бұрын
Hey Scott thanks for watching and commenting! There is not really anything tricky to the footwell as you noticed there is caulking and that bead needs to be broken but other than that it comes right out once there is no more caulk to hold it on. Also the original transducer was not installed but should have been a through hull in the area of your bilge pump. If you mean the original transducer gauge I only used the mount of the Garmin to block the hole and used the hole to run wires so I didn't have to close up any holes at all. I hope I understood that question correctly and the transducer mount I used the sternpad it comes with 3m tape and with a good cleaning it sticks no problem at all even in the marina for months it's still good and no hole drilling needed! Let me know any other questions you have it's definitely a job you can get done on your own with a little time and patience 👍

I have the same boat. I put a trolling motor on the back like you did. I’m having a hard time steering, have you also run into this problem?
@PlanetOwner2 жыл бұрын
Hey Micah , I don't really move the boat a lot with the trolling motor besides when I fish from the back. When fishing from the swimming decks it swings the boat left and right great and I only used it to move forward or backwards very little such as backing off the shore a bit. I have not gone forward or backwards with the boat under the trolling motor more than a few feet so I will have to check next time but I imagine you are correct and just figured my trolling motor was underpowered?
@PlanetOwner2 жыл бұрын
Did you notch out the trolling motor mount like @4:27 ? If not the boats steering will not function correctly, I was not sure which steering you meant so I posted again after thinking about it.
@micahrios4198 Жыл бұрын
I did cut out a notch and it seems to be working better. I want to figure out a way to to put the trolling motor off the front. I fish a lot of points and marinas and the turn radius is making it difficult.
