This differs from "wit," rooted in Old English "wit" (knowledge, understanding). The "wit" connection, though not historically accurate, resonates in modern interpretations, especially in feminist circles. It reflects a powerful reframing of witchcraft, emphasizing wisdom and female power. Language evolution often involves such reinterpretations, creating new meanings beyond original roots.

oh heavens: objectivity is so over in real science, at least since the 1930's....can we not pay attention to what has taken place and acknowledge that?? And move forward maybe, rather than stay stuck in old places?? Thank you so much!! : ).
