I CAN get the Pure Platinum but its really a hassle because you basically have to do the first phase with a non-drop combo, and i already have a tactic for it, but i dont like Loop combos so i let it be

Even if there's a method to viola not taking DMG, I think the reward for you goes to the length of time you had to sustain the blocks, parries and counters throughout the fight. Your tenacity is extraordinary. I think I wouldn't last a min even if I knew the tactics. It would be too tiring to keep parrying and counterattacking.

It is a way I can loop the first form of rodin into a combo loop, but I try to stay away from loop combos infinites and glitches to win.

I was expecting Rodin to say something like "This should be good practice to see if you're worthy if that new name". It feels like Viola could canonically spar against him, but it's shocking that there's no voice lines at all. Meanwhile, dang Viola's kind of crazy in the right hands. How do you do the invincible sprinting (such as when the black holes appear), spam dodge and block? I have discovered her block-cancelling is very neat (a speedrun showed you can spam Viola's R-Back X attack for impressive damage, and Aerial R-Forward X is good for moving through the air).

Im cancelling Dodge into itself. You cant just mash it, theres a rythm to it. I mean you "can" mash it but you would just be hoping to not take damage at that point

The fact the the butterfly and counter shield items are what is needed to even break even with Rodin with Viola is insane. And to do it damagless you know the reward is only just to flex that you can do it. Also I think you might be the only person who I've seen to do Rodin with Viola so I can safely say you are the top Bayonetta player out there. BTW: Shame on the game for only giving you a gold.

Thank you!!! It's only because he has a glitched punch that becomes a true unblockable. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't use the butterfly, as i normally use the Little Zeros Theres also a way to Pure platinum it, i just dont like having to do infinites and Loop combos to win.

It's a mechanic in the game. All three of the characters have different which time mechanics. Bayonetta's is based on how early or late that you do her dodge Jeanne is only perfect Dodge And Violas is either a quick witch time or a perfect block which enables the full witch time But during this fight it's actually very buggy to where you can perfect block and it will not count towards which time at all. It actually happens a couple times in this video.

This is just a whole new level of insanity. I saw someone use Royal Guard arts with Dante on DMC5 and I can barely do sh*t with that on my own and using the Moon of Mahaa-Khala in previous games is just impossible for me because of the lightning speed reaction needed. Heck, I find Jeanne difficult to use too with how her Witch Time works. Again, just high level of dexterity needed.

tbf i think viola is easier and stronger than bayonetta (outside of demon slaves ofc) but she has a little bit of a learning curve i still need to beat rodin but the furthest i've gotten was with viola and i got around 4 full health states in and since my viola only has like 3 witch hearts she can basically be 3 shot, i ran earring of time and moon of mahaa kalaa but tbh i think replacing moon of mahaa kalaa for pulley's butterfly would be better

The earring of time doesn't help due to a glitch during this battle. (Not sure if that was patched, but you can try it and you can see that the earring of time doesn't extend the which time as it does for bayoneta in regular fights outside of this one) The health doesn't really matter just because once rodent gets to two bars or less every move does double damage to you. The main thing that you want to do is just not get hit until you get to that point at least. But I know the new patch allows her to use which time more easier and it extends longer as well

You mean Moon Parry and Block? They have different benefits. Her own Block garentees Stagger The parry only staggers non projectile hits And in this game they made it so Parry doesn't give the i-frames after parrying, so you can get hit immediately after. And her invincible move is the best cause not only can you not be hurt, you can block and parry out of it, even on its attack frames. Its pretty busted

@@verxys its her dash attack with the sword. Your invincible ONLY WHILE RUNNING but as i said you can parry or block out of it at any time even on the attack frames when you're supposed to get hit. Outside of this fight, that's what makes her really good. If something is going to attack you and you're not sure if you're confident enough you're going to block. You could just do her forward attack move to be invincible for a second as you can cancel it out of any move and then you can also cancel itself into something else

@@ASnazzyNinja 😁 Something like that. So basically what's happening is she's able to cancel her Dodge into and out of anything. So I'm running but what's actually happening is I'm dodging into another run. (Since the startup of the run begins with Dodge, you have i-frames for that amount of time) When you think you're about to get hit, just cancel into another Dodge and then into run again. There's a perfect rhythm to it, Where you can't get hit during the frames that you do it but you also can't do it too fast or you will get hit. You can mash it, but I don't recommend doing that because you are just hoping that you're not getting hit.

Side note: theres also another way to escape it. Make sure you have her Swing on and not the wings. You can swing away, double jump into Block and you can't get hit until you touch the floor. Only move you ever need to dodge is his purple grab thing
