Most modern game localization is okayed by the original Japanese creators and really is different than an outside entity trying to censor something. I find it funny all these young kids see people upset over censorship but don't understand why- People dislike censorship when it from an outside entity (like the government or a large corporation) and them trying to hide or cover up the truth. People aren't fighting for a breast slider and a breast rubbing mini game that you honestly can live without. Also some things I am 100% glad are being taken out such as the drink spiking/sexual orientation correction therapy parallel in FE: Fates. It was really distasteful and it could fly in Japan because its an anime trope but in the west it is really homophobic and plain creepy/disgusting.

Have to give props to Nintendo for what they did for Bayonetta 2. Not only did they save the game, but they also went out of their way to ensure Platinum games that there was going to be little to no actual censoring of the game too. In situations like these, I really don't care if something turns exclusive if the end result still gets us a game in the end. Just look at Street Fighter 5 coming out next week: Sony saved the series and it is now going to be exclusive on the PS4. ((and yet so many people were shocked apparently to find out later it would never come on the Xbox One. Call me crazy, but that kind of goes without saying, wouldn't it?))

It being nintendo, and having the cuter designed monsters you couldn't find in other games, it was and still is often called a kids game. The IP's owner is still Sega... then again, even for cool crossovers, the devs have the final word on whether or not they want to add their own characters. I recall reading something about how Capcom asked the Monster Hunter dev team to add a character in Marvel vs Capcom 3 and they declined, just like I've read about SuperBot and Sony asking the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus dev team to add something, be a character or stage, in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, and they declined.

I can certainly understand how people got angry over Bayonetta 2 being Nintendo exclusive, I'd be pretty pissed too finding out a game franchise I liked got a sequel on a system I might not be planning on buying. However, the anger should be directed at Sega for the most part and how incompetent they are, and maybe to every other publisher that refused to fund Platinum Games (yes even Microsoft and Sony). At least thank Nintendo that Bayonetta 2 exists at all, and if you're angry because you have to spend hundreds of your cash just to play it there are many other games on the Wii U that are worth getting the system for, Bayonetta is certainly one of them, video games aren't all about mature themes and grey/brown wash realistic high resolution textures.

+Janice Law Sonic Boom originally was pretty good, however, Sega didn't tell Big Red Button what system they were making the game for until the last minute, so they had to hastily port it to the Wii U, a system that was weaker and very different from what they had been expecting to port the game to. (PS4 and Xbox One) Sega had every plan for this to be a good game, as evidence by the tie in TV show and merchandise. Sega also shot itself in the foot by screwing over the developers.

The sonic franchise confuses me for too many reasons to count. The only good games imo are the og 2d ones. Basically all of the 3d ones are either clunky as fuck or basically play themselves and are easy as balls. The 2d sections in some of the newer games are also pretty bare bones and are just basic platforming fare.

Nintendo hardly censor their own games because they purposefully create games for Everyone. When it comes to third parties, they lightened up after the ESRB became a thing. Why? Because, again, their own games are designed to appeal to anyone and everyone, but more importantly a third party game is not their responsibility. If some soccer mom wants to get mad that lil Timmy is playing Doom, Bayonetta, Mad World, Manhunt 2, or Resident Evil; that Mom has first ignore the ESRB rating on the box, realize she's the one who gave consent to the child playing it when she bought it, and can be referred to context the developer behind the game well before nintendo gets involved.

carso1500 It'd be weird if they sold Sonic to Nintendo without any key people. That being said, most of them left after X-Treme so I'm open to see what Nintendo does with him. It's so depressing to see Sonic join Nintendo, though, not gonna lie. He was well above Mario in popularity and then SEGA literally committed suicide after the Saturn had a failed launch. Truly pathetic, if you ask me, that they didn't pull a Wii U and still release some very solid games from their well known franchises to at least rope in a guarantee that they won't be dead.

+Medachod I don't think you can say Sonic was "well above" Mario back in the day. They had a healthy rivalry but the consistency and quality of Mario games are what kept Mario at the top. I also don't think it's any kind of depressing for Sonic to join Nintendo. I see it as a continuing healthy relationship. If the Sonic devs work more closely with Nintendo, they can learn how to revive him. They were on the right track with the Rush games on DS and Sonic Colors is by far one of the best Sonic games to come out in like 15 years. I just find it odd that Sega still hasn't figured out how to make a good Sonic game. They need only to evolve the core mechanics. It's obvious what they should be doing with the character. If Sonic is about fast paced platforming then the main mechanic behind the game should be speed. To utilize his speed the level design should focus on momentum and gravity. Power-ups should also be focused on and they should also be momentum based. Multiple paths have always been a thing so there should be many layers of paths with some very difficult skill based momentum layouts that takes you to new paths. Essentially Sonic needs to be able to maintain momentum and have abilities at his disposal to traverse the landscape without losing momentum. This would mean an almost free running mechanic that allows you to interact with the environment in a way to build and maintain momentum like vaulting over obstructions. I like the idea of performing tricks to build up a "rush" meter like in the Rush and Color games. Seriously if they could just build on those games we'd have some fantastic Sonic games but instead they continue to experiment.

Well, that explains why Bayonetta 2 was selected for Nintendo instead of Xbox 360 and PS3. No wonder I was so jealous. I also am amazed that Playboy model Pamela Horton cosplayed as the protagonist w/ her skin tight leather outfit and high heel guns. People really don't seem to understand the concept that without Nintendo, this game wasn't going to be on any system at all and wouldn't exist period. That wasn't Platinum trying to disenfranchise any of their fans, that was them trying to get the game out to fans in any way they could. Nintendo became the publisher, Nintendo saved it, why would they release it to their competition when it was one more exclusive, and a rare 3rd party one at that? Inb4 "Nintendo is greedy", they sold the game with Bayonetta 1 for the price of one game, they had all kinds of costumes for free that would be paid-DLC with any other company, and they let Platinum have full creative freedom and gave them as much time as they wanted. How many other companies would do even one of those things, let alone all of them?

Seeing that they invested millions into the development and another million into publishing I don't think that's an unreasonable demand. After all Nintendo is not going to invest millions to finance a game on the PS4. I don't think Nintendo gave them all the time they wanted though. I think they did put a certain amount of pressure on Platinum. To ensure Bayonetta 2 would be a Wii U launch title.

Captain Falcon. Well, the Wii U was sadly a market failure. Those people loved the franchise and wanted the second installment, and it was only released on a console that they didn't want. I may understand the disappointment, but hating on the Wii U was still too much I'm still wanting to get a second-hand Wii U sometime in 2018 for the few games it has. But if those games are re-released on Switch (Just like Bayonetta 1 and 2 were announced yesterday), maybe I won't. It's funny that people in the comments don't think that Sonic is a strong IP. I mean, it's not monumental compared to other games during the development of Bayonetta 2, but in Sega's world, Sonic is all the strength they have. If a video game company can still exist after Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom... knowing that's their largest IP, then that's a strong IP. It's nice that the lot of you feel that Bayonetta is the stronger IP in terms of quality, but failed to examine Sega's words in Sega's perspective as a business: *quantity.* Bayonetta 1 only sold 2.1 million copies and a decent Sonic game on a similar console can pull 3-4 million in sales. So yes, Sonic is a far stronger IP than Bayonetta _even when Sonic is running below average_ and Bayonetta is at her best. Sonic Boom being Sega's worst-to-date effort sold 690,000 copies and Bayonetta 2 sold 760,000. 70,000 more copies of Bayonetta 2 isn't going to promise a Bayonetta 3. The most you can say is that it is a strong IP... in Platinum Games' world. Also: Did you know Jeanne was designed after Twiggy Lawson?

The problem is, Sonic IS literally Sega's main game or at least. Bayonetta is still quite fresh to video games. You shouldn't compare two games that is Sega's main deal with TONS of games and a series of only 2 GAMES that most of Sega's fan base never heard of. Hell, even ALIEN got many games but couldn't even meet at least 2.5 million, not even 0.5 mil close to Sonic games. Bayonetta needs more love, and could make a great IP if it got more attention, the second game got HALF a more of Bayo 1's sales with Nintendo helping out and Sega barely helping them. If they could keep this up and produce Bayo 3 with Nintendo, it could even reach 3 million due to Bayonetta 2 being on Wii U and even selling Bayonetta 1 with it. Now mostly some of Nintendo's base know wth is exactly this woman Sorry for ranting

The problem for me is that all Sega really does now is Sonic and that kinda sucks for me. I've been waiting for a Space Channel 5 Part 3 for years even just a port to mobile or new gen consoles like Wii U or switch. Although they are making on for VR it's just you looking at a computer play the game. It sucks that Sega isn't where it used to be. Maybe we'd get some newer games from their forgotten ips instead of just sonic and more sonic
