i’m pretty sure it’s explained as them being on an equal footing but for different reasons. Cereza is a natural prodigy at the Umbran Arts, probably inherited from Rosa who’s the most powerful. Jeanne is more technically skilled because she was throughly trained and she doesn’t fight “instinctively” like Cereza does. She understands every move she makes and goes out of her way to try and improve herself and perfect her fighting ability

So... Singularity managed to barely survive his defeat in Bayo3 and attempted to restart here what he was doing in the other game. However, he was still crippled to the point of having to start over when Cereza is barely a witch, rely on the fae energy instead of his own, etc. And when Jeanne comes in, instead of acting all high and mighty, he fears her enough to try persuading her to leave him be. With him extinguished for good, both witches might now be free to live on further than what he determined. Is that right?

yeah I think this is probably the most likely scenario, everyone seems to be taking it in bad faith that this isn't an alternate timeline. if anything I assumed more people would be upset by the fact that this is more like B2's ending where Aesir possessed Balder and went into the past (Bayo 1), except here Singularity didn't get away with it. It's definitely setting up a Jeanne spin-off that Helena vaguely referenced.

This whole chapter could confirm one thing: Jeanne didn’t actually die. Remember in this she used the Soul Travelling technique, and when Singularity 'killed' Jeanne her body was destroyed, while there was blood, her soul should create a temporary one it creates for the technique, so what happened during the events of Bayonetta 3: when in the mission to find Sigurd, she used the Soul travelling technique so she would easily be able to pull out of there easily. And when Singularity killed Jeanne, it only restrained her soul from returning to her body, remember she disintegrated like how she did in this, her soul wasn’t dragged to inferno like how she was in Bayonetta 2.

THEORY: Singularity picked Cereza to be a vessel for Arch-Eve Origin because she has the left eye of the world(of darkness). Her father, Baldr has the right eye of the world(of light), while Luka is in connection to the World of Chaos like Loki/Loptr. Because Cereza and Jeanne, in addition to Baldr used their power to kill a literal god in Bayo 1&2's dimensions, Singularity used both Cereza and Luka for how pure they are especially Jeanne, with Viola as the offspring of the former two, thus could create universal destruction that Jubileus and Aesir wished they could accomplish. Who knows if there would be a third entity aside from Arch-Adam and Arch-Eve; possibly an Arch-Lilith as a reference to End of Evangelion?

Many of the Archs are alternate versions of the same person across the Multiverse, and Singularity promptly makes it his mission to hunt them down. The Arch-Eve of a particular world within the Multiverse is primarily a version of Bayonetta, due to her complex history and being a key part of many critical moments regarding the fate of the Trinity of Realities. They are also vital to the stability of the world they inhabit due to their fate-altering powers, with their death quickly leading to the destruction of said world without being present to challenge Singularity. The title of Arch-Eve is not always fixed on a Bayonetta variant, however, and can be assumed by other individuals within a specific world if they have a strong enough will. Jeanne β3 was originally the Arch-Eve of her world until the title was assumed by Bayonetta β3 following her death.

@@italoa.9168 I want to say that Bayonetta 2 used to be true sequel of Bayonetta 1, but Bayonetta 2 story had so much timeline changing and time travel paradoxes what made Bayonetta 1 game story irrelevant because events were likely wiped out from existence (time travel nuff said). Time was flowing normally, then Loptr drags out Balder causing paradox. Apparently in Records of Time Balder with broken mask was fighting Cereza what makes no sense. THen Balder being dragged out after Rosa's death makes no sense because during chapter 15 anything is changed somehow. Then Aesir's spirit wanted to be reborn bu coming back in time. Too much spacetime paradox mess it's irrelevant. I am not trying to shittalk of this game story, but let not pretend Bayo 3 has worst storytelling. At least it isn't messy. Bayonetta 3 literally retconned entire Bayoverse splitting into 3 seperate universe making Bayonetta 1 events relevant while Bayonetta 2 is own seperate universe. Origin game connects to 3rd game by Singularity content.

I know it takes place after Cereza cut her hair to patch up Cheshire's wound but I also know it doesn't take place after the ending, when Cereza packed her things to set off on a new adventure because she, once again, changed her hairstyle. I suspect Jeanne's Tale happens before Cereza had that dream of her saving/hugging her mother. She doesn't remember getting transported to Singularity's pocket realm, nor awakening from Singularity's spell to help Jeanne defeat him. All she could remember is her dream. And, she is also unaware of Cheshire returning to his ragged, cat doll body.

Along with side collectibles and writings. If you play without trying to pay attention thatll happen. Bayonetta is a quirky weird game with an interesting world and fun characters. 1 and 2 did a good job.. 3 did not. Bit off more than the game could chew.

this can go either 2 ways: singularity went back to a new timeline, or went back to the past. personally, going back to a new timeline seems more possible. if go to a new timeline: he was badly weakened by the events of bayo 3, decided to escape to an earlier timeline of brave cereza to kill her and merge with the previous timeline where he lost for his goal. he failed instead, creating a new time line with jeanne knowing her fate, practically retconning bayo 3. maybe will go to a jeanne spinoff. if go back to the past: it will basically return back to the events of bayo 3, which honestly kinda dont make sense

So what I’m thinking is this. B3 has to definitely happen in order for Singularity to exist here. What I think has happened is a new timeline/universe was born of his actions. By going back in time weakened from B3 l, he himself created an ‘uncertainty’. By showing Jeanne Origins her fate in B3 now that fate will be averted since no Singularity exists in this timeline save for Sigurd Origins. What it also could mean is that in this universe instead of contracting with Butterfly we get a Bayo who contracts with Cheshire. Im throwing out the whole 1 Paradiso/Inferno thing since in the grand scheme it makes zero sense. Otherwise even if B3 doesn’t know Cheshire, the vice versa wouldn’t be true.

If this cereza is "brave cereza from bayonetta 3", why doesn't it have a clock on its chest?. 🤔🤔, and at the end of the game the hairstyle is changed to that of bayo1, so this can be bayo 1 and not 3, Bayo 1 can be considered arch eve origin also for being the original bayo.

Bayo 3 went through the Bayo 1 hairstyle, just as Bayo 2 did. This is why I think it is just easier to assume Origins = Bayo 1 = Bayo 2 = Bayo 3.
