I sort of admire the honesty of having Mitch outright admit that he has no idea what Teague's motivations are or why he's investigating the supernatural.

What's so funny is it would have taken very little to do so. A little tweaking to this episode would be a great example. Instead of the woman in the ocean, they find a victim with claw marks that couldn't be made by any animal native to the area. As they investigate, whatever paranormal group Teague is a part of tells them to back off because they're looking into things they can't understand. Mitch investigates anyway because he's a stubborn ass, the discover the supernatural is real, Teague decides they might be useful after all and *boom* there's your soft reboot.

Personally, I think they should've gone another route that still explains nothing, but lays the foundation for the supernatural. Donna asks Mitch who that guy is, and he responds just as dismissively, "What do you mean? That's Teague, he's been working with me and Ryan for years. We go way back to when he was helping me solve crimes as a lifeguard." Like everything, this perplexes Donna, and she tries to correct him, "That wasn't Teague, that was Ga-" And she's immediately cut off by Teague, who's now right next to her and giving her that book, citing a conversation that they had about past lives. She stutters in confusion, trying to explain that she's never met him before, but her train of thought's thoroughly derailed and she just thanks him and wanders out of the scene. It's never mentioned again, and everyone acts like Teague has always been there.

I was also diagnosed with diabetes at age 9, and what was the show I watched endless reruns of while I grappled with my new diagnosis? Charmed. If I'd known at the time, it actually probably would have helped me a lot. Cool to know now, though!

The reason the show when dark was Mulder and Skully went undercover as a couple on a beach vacation in order to hunt for a monster on the run. It dodged them by disgusting as a lifeguard and invited his friends to hide out at the Baywatch beach.

Hm, the air dates from the DVD set could refer to the first time the episodes aired on German television, on a station called Sat 1. Wikipedia says that the first episode aired there on July 14th 1996. And the season 2 premiere aired on April 22nd 1998. Looks like the imdb page uses the German air dates, too. S1 was aired on a weekly basis here, whereas S2 episodes aired from Monday to Friday, except on holidays like May 1st.

Why is there so much air above the waterline inside a completely submerged shipwreck? It _is_ completely under water, right? Why else would they have to get inside by diving into it instead of climbing/rapelling down and continuing from there. The lights from outside the wreck in the scenes when they're above the waterline inside are "Baywatch's" typical "we're under water in an air bubble/cave/whale's butthole, everything is blue outside" lighting. The physics of the wreck make no sense. Am I missing something? How deep is the water around Catalina Island? The dead diver wears a suit for surface-supplied diving, which makes no sense for work in debris inside a wreck. Mitch von Mulder and Griff take their masks off inside the wreck and don't take any pressure equalising time. How deep under the surface of the Pacific are they? More than 30ft? I have multiple questions concerning barotrauma. Which brings me to the explosion inside the wreck that should lead to a flooding of the air bubble, but I'm afraid my brain will leak out of my ears if I try to make sense of how strong the windows/hatches and damaged superstructure of the sunken ship are supposed to be. It's the first episode of "X-Files Nights" and already nothing makes sense... THE FIRST EPISODE! (Bonus question: Why is Donna working at "Nights" without a bra on? I get that she's the "new Pamela", but come on! Really?)

"Terror of the Deep" sound like a season 4 episode of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea - so I'd just expect 'scary' creatures/monsters (i.e. blokes in dodgy rubber suits walking very very slowly, arms outstretched, dripping icky and going 'grrrrrrrrrr'). Great fun!
