I love the original charmed. Selfish characters and all. But I couldn’t even get through the first episode of the reboot. It just wasn’t funny. They were trying way too hard. Drilling the idea of fighting the patriarchy down your throat is not a punchline. I’m sure there’s a funny, non-condescending way to do woke, but new Charmed ain’t it. I’m left leaning and there’s a lot I can find funny even if it’s a little out of my comfort zone, so no I’m not some homophobe that hates poc. The charmed reboot just isn’t funny.

Lucy feels like an attempted Cordelia (Buffy) clone, only way ditzier minus the development and overall appeal.

The whole Knights Templar plot makes this episode feel like a really bad ripoff of the novel Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco, in which three bored and disillusioned publishers with a fascination with the middle ages and are constantly being forced to review crank conspiracy books (and dealing with their equally weird and eccentric authors) decide to create their own conspiracy theory by throwing all the conspiracies they've encountered together into one massive theory about the Neo-Templars. Unfortunately those same cranks they've dealt with get ahold of the theory and believe it to be real, forming the Neo-Templars themselves and hunting down our protagonists for information and secrets, as the protagonists begin to believe their own lies and grow paranoid as a result. Its a great novel. The novel is a critique of conspiracy theories and the like and when The Da Vinci Code came out, many compared it (unfavorably) to Foucault's Pendulum and asked Eco what his thoughts were on the more famous book- to which he said that he felt Dan Brown seemed to act like one of the characters from this book by believing all these conspiracy theories and jumping to so many wild conclusions. Similarly, I feel he would have the same reaction to this episode of Baywatch Nights.

Could you imagine what Janice's and Kirk's relationship at the Academy was like?? He probably broke up with her because she was so psycho, even back then! Also, something tells me she had a choking kink that probably freaked poor Kirk right out.

My sister almost got hired as a writer for the production company that made the Air Bud films. Apparently, and you're never going to believe this, but these are very assembly line-like productions. A writing team pitches concepts, producers pick which one they think would work best (whether it's because of scheduling, budget or some other reason), someone on the team writes it, preproduction starts, etc. Very efficient and workman-like. She said they were nice people and almost everyone there actually seemed to care about what they were making, believe it or not. My sister didn't get the job because her background of writing historical dramas was kind of a bad match.

Looking back now from years in the future, it's funny that at the end of the episode, I was waiting for you to name your Margoyle and your Car-man. "Who's Your Margoyle And Your Car-man, Phelan"? "Actually Allison, My Car-man is Margoyle." (Allison's head explodes)

I need to know how much each advent calendar was. If the Pringles ones was $15, can you imagine how much better the gift would've been if you just bought $15 of full size pringles cans? We need a compare and contrast for how much advent calendars are overpriced garbage. I bet you could get 3-4x the amount of stuff if you didn't buy the calendar. Its like Allison said, "youre paying for the packaging." What a waste!!

Seth Adkins who was Pinocchio in this film, previously voiced Duby in Baby Geniuses, alongside such noted actors as Christopher Lloyd, Peter MacNicol, and Kathleen Turner. I don’t know why I know that- but it’s been in my brain for a while. Also, Leo, Myles, and Gerry Fitzgerald have only worked in the movies twice. Both times as Sly and Whit in Baby Geniuses, from 1999, and the other in Baby Geniuses 2: Superbabies as Kahuna. They then split from Hollywood and decided to play hockey, been playing since they were teenagers. How Seth Adkins made it into this, I’ll never know or understand. But I do know, it started off as a movie with Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. Which would’ve been amazing!

I hate the fuck out of Inner Light!!! Tapestry, however, was really good. I always wondered about those older guys in blue always walking around in the background. Why were they so old? Why were they lower ranks? Lower Decks needs one!!!🤩🤩🤩

Somewhere out there in the Multiverse, there's a world where the end of that episode was Jill and Trevor strolling on the beach, and Trevor saying 'Uh...Jill, your near Brush with death with that Shark and this as well has made me realise how much I want you to be my Sheila! So...would you go to a Barbie with me?'.

So maybe I’ve been binging Baywatching too long today… but the change of the song at the end threw me off. It had been a (surprisingly) better remix and I find that this new, album version to be so lacking. The Hoff can’t hold the note on “love” and it’s a let down. Thanks for the laughs all day though!

one of my favorite Keach appearances is a little segment in an anthology movie Body Bags where he undergoes a hair growth treatment that is actually a quick growing alien parasite. Sheena Easton is in it too. it's on the level of The Tick Mustache episode! must see.

My thing is and I don't know if you know this.But the charmed series has a comic book that goes over the kids's life and well.Yeah, the actor for Chris and Wyatt would be too old to play their roles.You could easily make it about teenage Chris.And Wyatt and their sister Or Their cousins.

To my knowledge, people who are half of a minority are still considered a part of that demographic. So a half-latina IS latina, a half-black person is black, etc. This is the first time I've ever heard to the contrary. I mention it because people who are half can struggle with identity issues and excluding them from their culture can be hurtful (unintentionally).
@AllisonPregler2 күн бұрын
No one is saying someone who is half Latina is not Latina. The characters are half Latina, not the actresses. That is my understanding from the reporting around the time the show premiered.
