Context & Meaning in the Quran - Khutbah by Nouman Ali Khan

This Khutbah was recorded at the Bayyinah Foundation Musallah on November 3rd, 2017
In ayah 36 of Surah Al-Isra Allah warns against obsessively following what we do not know fully. On the Day of Judgment, we will be held accountable for what we hear, see and become impassioned about. Hearing something constantly not only influences our perception of it, but also informs our emotions towards it. That is why having a regular relationship with the Quran is essential. Our views and feelings become aligned with what Allah teaches us through His blessed words. But we must be cautious about how we use our limited knowledge of the Quran and Hadith because often we quote them out of context; we think that we are using them correctly even though we are not fully aware of their meaning.

This is the only thing I wait in KZbin! Our problem in our societies is that we take every ayah and hadith and use it in our counter arguments, rather than understanding them, with extreme confidence and almost never thinking about the context. Unfortunately, this is exceptionally true in Islamic countries. Masha Allah and salam from Afghanistan to all brothers around the world.

That's true for me. I would actually assume that the saalat is not accepted for some men when I see them praying fast in the masjid, or sometimes see them moving too much or yawning, etc. I can't even focus on my own prayer, lol. Alhumdullilah, i'm learning how to change my perspective !

Do not forget that the word al sam(hearing) about 30times and the word al basar(sight) about 7times mentiond in quran , so we know why -because quran originally is an oral text, and prophet(PBUH) was omi(Illiterate) and not able to read ! and also remember the word ghol(say) .....inshalla to be consider in future

Even the English word "emotion" comes from the Latin word for "being moved". It implies being moved by what you experience through your five senses (hearing, sight etc). Emotion/Drive is something which pushes you to do something. So "fuaad" makes sense.

Hi there! I'm from non english speaking country. I find it difficult to me to easily understand every khutbah Bayyinah posted. I don't know whether it is my concentration and logical issue or my poor understanding of english. I usually turn on the subtitle in english (my reading skill is not that bad), but still I usually need to re-watch again and over again to understand it. Farhan Ali trust me, there's no concrete evidence on evolution. Evolution can't even be tested over and over again. All they have is a "supposedly replica" of the skulls on what it supposed to look like. and a bunch of theories on what it should be, and what it probably is and so on. Listen to Richard Dawkins interview, you'll get the answer.
