The great legends of his era BB King - Jackie Wilson - James Brown were there to witness Elvis‘ creativity. He was a one-of-a-kind super talent that grew up in the black community during the great depression and segregation in the deep South. His support for the civil rights movement is not known by the greater population in America. This movie is going to examine this part. This is why almost all black musicians from that era absolutely loved Elvis because he was able to take that Memphis sound all around the country and then the world. Little Richard credited Elvis Presley multiple times for opening up the door for black music and creating a path that he could travel and so he could make his mark. Clearly a terribly racist time Elvis put poverty and racial socialization on his platform. But he did it all through Music and his behind the scenes actions alone. He never got political I think that’s what actually made him so powerful and able to succeed. BB KING: 'Let me tell you the definitive truth about Elvis Presley and racism', The King of the Blues, B.B. King said in 2010. 'With Elvis, there was not a single drop of racism in that man. And when I say that, believe me I should know'. -- BB KING JAMES BROWN: “I wasn’t just a fan, I was his brother. He said I was good and I said he was good; we never argued about that. Elvis was a hard worker, dedicated, and God loved him … I love him and hope to see him in heaven. There’ll never be another like that soul brother”. --- JAMES BROWN (During Elvis' private family wake, James was the LAST ONE TO LEAVE. 1 hour and 30 minutes later -- it took several of his security guards to help him out of the room. James was devastated -- they sang Gospel together to all hours of the night at each others' homes. James Brown was considered family by the Presley they were so close.) JACKIE WILSON: "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man's music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied from Elvis." --- JACKIE WILSON (Elvis quietly paid for Jackie's medical expenses until the day he passed away in 1977. Before Jackie's stage accident he would carry a small signed photo of Elvis in his pants pocket. Every day, bar none.)

Mr BB King: 'Before Elvis we had Little Black Sambo, separate black restrooms and water fountains, and colored events that kept us away from the whites', BB King noted as he mention that Presley would attend events especially designated just for African-Americans. In June 1956, Presley ignored Memphis's segregation ordinances by attending 'colored night' at the local fairgrounds amusement park. The following December, King was there as Presley opened up almost unbreakable racial barriers by attending and supporting the segregated WDIA black radio station's annual fund-raising event for 'needy Negro children' at Memphis' Ellis Auditorium. King wrote in his autobiography that he 'liked Elvis. I saw him as a fellow Mississippian. I was impressed by his sincerity. When he came to the Goodwill Review (the event WDIA fund raisers of 1956 and 1957), he did himself proud'. 'The Goodwill Revues were important', he wrote. 'The entire black community turned out. All the DJs carried on, putting on skits and presenting good music'. In his autobiography, King said he held no grudges because 'Elvis didn't steal any music from anyone. He just had his own interpretation of the music he'd grown up on, same is true for everyone. I think Elvis had integrity'. 'If anyone says Elvis Presley was a racist', charged B.B. King in the 2010 interview. 'Then they don't know a thing about Elvis Presley or music history. 'Many nights after we finished our sets and I'd go up to his suite', King confessed. 'I'd play Lucille (on his guitar) and sing with Elvis, or we'd take turns. It was his way of relaxing'. 'I'll tell you a secret', King winked and laughed. 'We were the original Blues Brothers because that man Elvis knew more blues songs than most in the business - and after some nights it felt like we sang everyone one of them." 'Let me tell you the definitive truth about Elvis Presley and racism', The King of the Blues, B.B. King said, 'With Elvis, there was not a single drop of racism in that man. And when I say that, believe me I should know'.

MLKs assassination is significant in this movie because when Elvis heard the news during his comeback special he broke down and the only words he could utter in his broken state was “he always spoke the truth” later he would change the closing song of the comeback special to what would become one of his most famous songs he ever sang “If I Can Dream” written for Elvis to sing that incorporates the speech from Dr. Kings I have a dream speech.

This was in preparation for this Elvis movie and unfortunately Sam died not so long ago. Never mind, I am sure Sam will be up in heaven with his buddy Elvis looking down at us and all this commotion going on. p.s. this is the first time that I have seen youse two on your reaction channel. sir, you have a great radio announcer type of voice. and maam, you gave a great review without giving away too much. thank you.

Great review, as a former Memphian and Elvis fan the attention to details by Bas is astounding, even for the one second flash of the SOLD sign as Elvis drives up to Graceland in the pink Caddy, it has the actual realtors name that sold the property to Elvis. That is a one second flash that indicates a lot of attention was paid to things a lot of people will miss, but the hard core Elvis fans will pick up.

@ Creative Eye ; Lets put some facts down instead of the "inside info of here say" before people believe that instead of factual info . A : The TCB logo was designed by Priscilla BUT earlier used as a phrase between Elvis and his bodyguards = close inner circle of friends . So everyone of Elvis his inner circle wore a necklace with the TCB logo as a sign of "being of one the inner circle" Elvis his large plane had also the logo as Elvis his glasses and other things . B: The TCB logo had nothing to do with a "secret" matter . Just an brotherly name for a group of people who were friends and wanted to express it with a logo to recognize each other . C: "Non" Elvis fans as in accusing Elvis of being "a racist" as mentioned as a phrase in the 90's rap video by Public Enemy and Chuck D.? Well ..1st : Chuck D later expressed himself wrong on that phrase in writing and on TMZ live , and quoted : "Elvis a fantastic singer , great ." 2nd ; The phrase revived an old LIE made up in a 3rd rate magazine owned by a Texas white man in the 50's called SEPIA . JET Magazine investigated it and found out it was bogus to the bone and Elvis never said it = kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWWvo3aNZ8mdec0 . 3rd ; Elvis was raised by blacks , lived with blacks , had friends in blacks and later when touring in the 70's ,black plp in his band = Sweet Inspirations in a time when it was not common to mix . Elvis dared to do such , even if he got the heat for it with being banned on the airwaves in music , tv and newspapers or called a N. lover in the 50's. wich was the time the KKK was huge . AND... Elvis always credited his black idols like BB King , James Brown , Fats Domino etc for influencing him .

Austin Butler sang himself in the early 60 s, 70s in some songs they synchronized the OG Elvis and Austin’s voice but at the very end it’s completely Austin.

Austin (Butler) actually did all the singing naturally, so the sound production crew didn't use any of Elvis's singing in his songs. Baz Luhrmann wanted this movie to be totally accurate as possible so you're going to hear Austin naturally singing Elvis's songs like as of course, covers. And he put on the Tennessee accent so he could be in character from Elvis's natural speaking voice to singing and even the mannerisms. Austin did all the studying into Elvis to get into the character to play as him. This has also been done in Straight Outta Compton, with Oshea Jackson Jr, Jason Mitchell, Corey Hawkins, Neil Brown Jr, and Aldis Hodge to sound exactly their counterparts only using their actual voice and to rapping. Bohemian Rhapsody did it differently, Rami Malek doesn't sing as that often but used his voice in the Live Aid scene. All the singing has been done by recordings by Freddie but mostly by a youtuber by the name of Marc Martel. Which by the name you might heard of before, if not? Go check out Marc Martel if you get the chance.

Bas, the director said that Austin is singing the songs from the 50s, but the 60s and 70s are Elvis and Austin's voices blended together, so it isn't only Austin singing the entire time.

* * * Missing from this movie is his Country Music Roots. Rock & Roll is not just R&B. Elvis fused Country with Blues and his own brand of Rock & Roll was born. Also missing is the fact that Elvis biggest influence was not R&B it was Pop Ballad singers like Dean Martin & Bing Crosby. He did not set out to be an R&B singer, nor was he. Even Gospel music, which the trailer shows, there were other influences beside those in the community. At age 14, he met JD SUMNER (of the Stamps Gospel Quartet), which he came to see during an all-nigh hymn sing in Memphis. JD was a big influence on him, and later joined his band!

⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡ Priscilla did not design the TCB Logo, she was there when he was coming up with it. He was inspired by a woman he had an affair with. She had her family necklace on. The Lighting Bolt is from Captain Marvel comics but used as"TCB in a Flash". ⚡⚡⚡⚡ There was never an Album called TCB although it's a nice concept. 😎👍

THIS IS MRS ACE X. WITH THE TCB, WITH THE LIGHTENING BOLT WAS... TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS IN A FLASH. AUSTIN SANG THE 50S MUSIC. THEY BLENDED ELVIS' VOICE WITH AUSTINS' FOR THE 60S MUSIC, AND IT IS ALL ELVIS' SINGING VOICE IN THE 70S. THAT WAS ELVIS PLAYING THE PIANO WHILE SINGING UNCHAINED MELODY, WHICH YOU HEARD IN THIS TRAILER. THIS FILM HAS BEEN INVITED TO AND WILL BE SEEN AT THE CANNES FILM FESIVAL. THERE IS OSCAR BUZZ, AND I BELIEVE THAT IT WILL PULL IN AT LEAST TWO. I HOPE THAT IT GETS MOVIE OF THE YEAR. OUR ELVIS DESERVES THAT. HIS MANAGER WOULD NOT LET HIM MAKE ANY MOVIE WHERE HE WOULD NOT GET TOP BILLING, SO HE NEVER GOT TO WORK WITH THE BEST KNOWN ACTORS, IN THE BEST WRITTEN FILMS. THE MANAGER WANTED HIM TO STICK TO THE FORMULA MOVIES, WHERE THEY COULD MAKE QUICK MONEY...SAD.. TELL FRIENDS, RELATIVES, COWORKERS, FELLOW STUDENTS, CHURCH MEMBERS AND PEOPLE THAT YOU SPEAK TO ALONG YOUR WAY, TO WATCH THIS TRAILER, AND THAT ELVIS 2022 WILL BE IN THEATERS ON JUNE 24TH, 2022. PEOPLE DO NOT EVEN KNOW THAT THIS MOVIE IS COMING OUT. PLEASE, MAKE SURE THAT THEY DO, FOR THE LOVE OF ELVIS, AND FOR HIS SAKE. DON'T THINK THAT HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON HERE. LOOK UP THE SAM BELL, IN TUPELO, MISSISSIPPI, INTERVIEW DONE BY THE DIRECTOR OF THIS FILM. HIS NAME IS BAZ LUHRMAM? WELL, BAZ IS CORRECT ANYWAY. SAM WAS ELVIS' BEST FRIEND WHEN THEY LIVED BEHIND EACH OTHER AS CHILDREN.. THEY HAD SLEEP OVERS. ELVIS LIVED IN A BLACK NEIGHBORHOOD THAT ONLY HAD ABOUT 3 WHITE HOUSEHOLDS. ELVIS WAS THE ONLY CHILD THAT WAS WHITE SEEN OUTSIDE. AFTER ELVIS WATCHED KIDS PLAYING FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS HE WAS INVITED BY SAM TO PLAY WITH THEM. HE GOT PERMISSION, AND THE REST IS THE STORY OF HIS LIFE. ELVIS. A MAN WITH EMPATHY, COMPASSION, WITH LOVE FOR ALL. A VERY SENSITIVE PERSON, WITH SELF DOUBTS. HIS UNCLE VESTER, VERNON PRESLEYS BROTHER TOLD US THAT GLADYS AND VERNON ALWAYS TOLD ELVIS THAT HE WAS GOING TO LOSE EVERYTHING AND BE BROKE. HIS MOTHER TOLD HIM THAT THEY WERE NOT MEANT TO HAVE MONEY. THAT WAS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT HE ALWAYS WORRIED ABOUT. YET HE WAS A FREE GIVER. HIS HEART LOVED TO HELP OTHERS. HE FELT THIER LONGING AND THIER PAIN. EVEN IF A PERSON HAS NEVER HEARD OF OUR ELVIS, THEY N-E-E-D TO SEE THIS FILM.. WATCH ELVIS LASS ON KZbin, IF YOU LOVE ELVIS. PEACE AND LOVE.
