This is the real reason. There was one time when Elvis was already the most famous man on the planet but he had one more Louisiana Hayride concert to perform. One last one,. December 16, 1956. They did not make him close the show because they wanted to be kind to the others, so when Elvis ended his performance and everyone started to leave, some trying to get to him, the announcer said "Elvis has left the building ", adding "Please return to your seats to continue the show". A decade later, when he got back on tour, then it was said so that people leave the building, as many did not know he didnt do encores, but that was not the case the first and only time when he did not close a show while simultaneuely being the most famous person in the world.

Tom Hanks is not seen much in the trailer but I suspect there will be much more from him in the full movie. Hopefully audiences Worldwide will be able to see who Elvis really was and what he stood for. It will also give a big boost to Elvis' Legacy especially with new fans and the younger generation. The trailer has already been viewed over 60 million times and this augurs well to the film being a huge success when released. Elvis was truly 'sui generis' and there will never be another like him. I think I felt the same way you did when I saw this for the first time, I was deeply moved by it. I remember the day Elvis died, I was introduced to his music through my parents, and though I was a young child you could feel the impact of his passing through tv, radio etc. I knew it was something different, the end of something extraordinary. As an adult I watched as his life and music have been made into a caricature of sorts, and I always felt bad for his family because what Elvis achieved arguably was like nothing else before or after. People bring up The Beatles, but the Beatles are 4, where Elvis is singular. People bring up Michael Jackson, but Elvis has sold 139 million albums in America, whereas Jackson has sold 89 million. I sadly don't think many people truly understand why Elvis is called the "King". The fact that they could put Elvis in movies and, the quality of the films notwithstanding, have many of those movies actually do well at the box office is telling. Elvis was everywhere, and everything in many ways, the biggest thing in existence for a significant amount of time. I hope this movie helps people understand just how monumentally he influenced American culture in particular. When The Beatles came to American one of the things they most wanted to do was meet Elvis, which they did. Michael Jackson admitted he was a fan of Elvis. Elvis' life and legacy are arguably unparalleled. That's why the part in the trailer when he says "nobody will remember me", which has been corroborated by Priscilla, almost brings me to tears every time. They will remember you Elvis. They will absolutely remember you.

@ cd and others ; Elvis is still ALIVE !! That was NOT Elvis in that casket ! It was a Wax Dummy !That is what was in the 900 lb Copper Casket along with a battery powered portable cooling unit to keep the Wax from melting. Everyone that observed the '' body '' in the coffin noticed that the forehead had '' beads of moisture ''.Gene Smith, Elvis's 1st cousin, said that the Sideburns had been glued on and kept coming loose! Gene also stated that one could feel the ''chilled air'' all around the casket that was coming from a cooling unit within the coffin. When Gene asked Vernon where Elvis was , Vernon replied , '' He's safe, Don't worry ,He's Upstairs resting. We had to put something on display for the fans ! '' ELVIS did NOT Die on August 16, 1977 ! NO ONE is actually buried there at the Meditation Garden in back of the Mansion. Only the top layer of sod was removed for the placement of the Bronze Memorial plaques ! Those are just there for the Fans and the Tourists. All of Elvis' family members that have done passed on are buried somewhere else in a undisclosed Private Cemetery and ELVIS IS Very Much STILL ALIVE ! He never really stopped making his music ! He has been recording and making music all this time. He just can't release any of his songs using his real name anymore because of EPE,Inc. He has been using different alias ever since. Elvis Aron Presley is sometimes Jon Burrows and several other various ''alias''. He staged and faked his death with the help and knowledge of Col. Tom Parker, Dr. '' Nick '' , Joe Esposito , and the FBI by doing a '' Body Swap '' with a Terminal Bone Cancer patient Roscoe Scott Holloway of Germantown, TN of whom Dr. Nichopolous had located. After some minor cosmetic surgery they made Roscoe Scott Holloway look like Elvis, a ''double'' which fooled the Paramedics , the hospital personnel and most family members. Elvis, aka Jon Burrows, was a U.S. Special Federal Agent that worked undercover in various '' sting operations '' against known members of the SDS Weathermen Underground Terrorist Group. The SDS Weathermen Underground Terrorist Group was responsible for numerous multiple bombings of Police Departments, Federal and State Court Houses and other public buildings during the 1960's and 1970's. Charles William ''Bill'' Ayers was the SDS Leader of the Weathermen Terrorist Group, along with his cohort Bernardine Rae Dohrn, Elvis, aka Jon Burrows, the name he used working for the DEA and later for the FBI as a Special Federal Agent, was appointed by the former late President Richard M. Nixon and Elvis, aka Jon Burrows, worked as a Federal Agent from December 1970 until his official retirement in December 2004. In September 1978 , Elvis, aka Federal Agent Jon Burrows was the Government's '' Secret Witness '' in '' Operation Fountain Pen '' and He testified in Federal Court against a well known member of the Mafia Organized Crime Syndicate, a one Fredrick Peter Pro of the '' Fraternity '' In September 1977, Elvis, aka Federal Agent Jon Burrows, entered the Federal Witness Protection program where he stayed until July 1978.Then Agent Jon Burrows, aka Elvis, returned to Washington D.C. where he worked for the DEA and then later for the FBI Counter Intelligence Branch until his official Retirement in December 2004, and ending 34 years of dedicated Federal Service. Elvis, aka Jon Burrows was in the Federal Witness Protection program because of past threats made by members of the SDS Weathermen Underground Terrorist Group, Bill Ayers and past threats by certain key members of the Mafia Organized Crime Syndicate, of which Agent Burrows, aka Elvis took part in various undercover '' sting operations '' to indict and bring them to Justice. All these facts are told in a documentary interview that Elvis aka Jon Burrows, gave, recorded and released on a DVD in January 2012. Elvis, aka Jon Burrows, also recorded and released a brand new CD of 15 songs in January of 2012. Both have been voice printed and authenticated 100 % as the voice of Elvis Aron Presley by Computer Voice Analysts Technicians. Besides being a U.S. Federal Agent with the DEA and then later with the FBI, as appointed by the late former POTUS Richard M. Nixon on December 21, 1970, Elvis was also a Bonded, Certified & Trained Deputy Sheriff with the Shelby County Sheriff's Dept. Memphis,TN, since September 23, 1964 and Chief Deputy since October 10, 1970 with Shelby County Sheriff's Dept .Elvis was also a Reserve Police Captain in the Memphis PD , a Reserve Police Captain with Denver PD and a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the LA County Sheriff's Dept. He was nominated as One of the Top 10 Young Men in America by the American Jaycees on January 16, 1971, not for his work as a Entertainer, but for his dedication and work in Law Enforcement !! A Fulton County Deputy Sheriff , GA , was on location at a very well known Underground Wax Museum in Atlanta, Georgia on the week they were closing. Vernon Presley and a couple of the guys that work for Elvis came in and bought a lifelike life sized wax figure of Elvis, because it was all being auctioned off. They made the purchase and on the way out the door, Vernon Presley turned to the guy at the museum counter and said, " Just Wait 'til you guys see what we're going to do with this " ! AND this Is the TRUTH as told by Elvis himself !!! Elvis Presley Is Alive !!!

I have watched many other reactors but I really take yours seriously as I know you love Elvis. I am glad that you are happy with what you saw. Maybe when the movie comes out, I will appreciate it. First of all John you are the most poised controlled reactor on KZbin. This movie really touched you. As it did me.Up until now Elvis has always been portrayed as a cartoon character or a parody. The exception being Kurt Russell in a TV movie from over 40 years ago. Kurt Russell recently said it’s very difficult when you play the “Coca-Cola can “ for an actor, because everyone already knows what it looks like. There is very little room for an actor’s interpretation. But this film really seems to tell a story of Elvis’s influence on music and his view of the world. I am very excited to see this movie. Yes the video you mention where Baz talks to Elvis' childhood friend is very good. Worth searching for on KZbin. He goes to the street Elvis lived on in Tupelo, MI, and you see photos of the home and his elementary school. His old friend describes how they played. How Elvis as a little kid would run onto their house and look in the fridge. His parents liked Elvis because of his good manners: "Yes, ma'am", and "yes, sir", very polite and respectful.

Cannot wait to see the movie

I am so glad you reviewed this amazing trailer . I have watched it many times and each time my feelings are the same. I love everything about it from his youth ( his love and desire to be a super hero like Captain Marvel) to the influence the black music and church had on him and through the clips of his life. Just like you and so many other fans I became emotional once " Unchained Melody" started because I am still missing him so much. The trailer captured my attention and I couldn't take my eyes away from the screen.I hope it is a film that shows the beautiful humanity of Elvis along with his enormous contribution to music. I hope in the end this film gives him the respect and love he deserves and brings millions of new fans to love his music and the man. Elvis thought he would not be remembered. We remember you .... Always and forever...❤⚡⚡⚡❤

Aside of Elvis (1979 Kurt Russell), I haven’t seen anything as powerful as this, and it’s ONLY the trailer!👍🏼⚡️TCB⚡️

Brand new Elvis book, Elvis: The Quest for an Oscar, great cover, 536 pages. The book will convince you that Elvis deserves an Oscar for his contributions to the movie industry. Elvis was able to capture the persona of all the characters he played to perfection. The 31 movies that Elvis made always entertained everyone who watched them. Austin Butler will most definitely receive the Oscar for his dynamic performance in “Elvis”. It’s time Hollywood gave Elvis the Oscar he deserves. “Elvis”, the movie you must see, Elvis: The Quest for an Oscar, the book you must read….

This Austin Butler you can tell has spent countless hours trying to get the look, voice, and moves, and from what I've seen of this trailer he nailed it. Of course no one is going to be Elvis's carbon copy, but if you come close, you have something special. Can't wait for this movie to come out.

I know this was a couple of years ago but I just watched your reaction to the Elvis trailer. I've watched it dozens of times, even to this day. It just draws you in and makes my heart race. I think the reason it had you at "Unchained Melody" is because that's Elvis actually singing it. No one, no one could touch you through song like Elvis. I'm an old lady now, but I remember as a young teen finding Elvis. And I haven't let go. He was so, so wrong if he thought no one would remember him. Wherever he is, I hope he's smiling finally realizing how much he touched people.

It’s so hard to make a movies about Elvis. He was so special. But I think about what I see they went deep about what Elvis really was . Not just about music but is believed and were he really start. People gonna see he was not a racist. He opened the door to the black artist back 50 when nobody care about them but Elvis did care about them. And the humanitarian he was.

My feelings were much the same as yours. A new look at someone so many of us love. I am looking forward to seeing and I normally do not like movie About Elvis where someone else plays him. They always make him look like this deeply troubled character...and then have some impersonator do his songs badly....like a cartoon almost. This one goes deeper it appears into his life....with the whole Martin Luther King death that bothered him so much etc. The only thing that was strange to me was Col Parkers accent. I have heard the Col speak and he never had any accent like that at all. Thanks for your channel...love it.

I can tell now that I will cry all through the movie. If you grew up in the Elvis Era you will be moved to tears. So many people turned on Elvis in the 70's instead of understanding what that God loving man had been through. Hopefully this movie will clear a lot of wrong teachings up. I am an Elvis fan and have always been until the day I die. RIP Elvis.

Priscilla, Lisa Marie, and his Granddaughter seen a full screening of the movie, and stated that it is very accurate, so accurate that it was emotional for them watching it. So to me, that confirms it's the most accurate movie made about Elvis.

I had the same reaction as you did! I just kept saying OMG! Baz knew what he was doing with Unchained Melody. The attention to detail are incredible…when Austin is pushed into the car he’s in the Dragon suit and his hand is bandaged just like Elvis’ was in 1974. Cannot WAIT to see it!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Absolutely can’t wait John. There has been lots of negative comments about the actor who plays ElVIS Bud the director. Went to Tupelo and met Elvis child hood friend. And got the stories. The sets, the clothing Austin has got all the moves. He sings all the 50s stuff because they couldn’t use Elvis recordings from the 50s The 60s and 70s singing is a mixture of Elvis and Austin. It’s going to be epic!

The greatest thing about elvis presley is that he never understood why god gave him this happiness when others are poor and their lives are full of sorrows (elvis once said that). Elvis Presley once said: "I think that God gave me this luck and this talent so that I can always help people and make them happy. For me, the most beautiful thing is when I see that people are happy!"
@justafanmiller74862 жыл бұрын
Finally! A movie befitting THE KING ELVIS PRESLEY? Let's hope so. He certainly deserves it. Can't wait to see if the movie lives up to the legend. His momma "the way you sing is God given so there can't be nothing wrong with it!" Touche Mrs Presley, Touche!

It looks so good. I grew up with my mom listening to Elvis along with Gospel music. I was a child in the car with my parents when his passing was announced. A few years ago I finally went to Graceland with my son and it was like going to church. I have faith that Luhrmann will do Elvis' story justice.
