A proper mechanic doing jobs the correct way, why has this channel not got 300k+ subscribers? I'd watch this over some novice botching jobs on their driveway any day.

Love pulling the box on the i20s, any hyundai/kia is a joy actually. Every single one I've done has been straight forward with no unnecessary faff in the way 😂. 1 tip though for when your filling it, put Dexron 3 ATF fluid in and your customers will thank you for it 👌
@GhostLead657 күн бұрын
Really? in a manual box?
@ifoundmytv7 күн бұрын
@GhostLead65 indeed. At lower temps, dexron 3 flows better than manual oil making gear changes smoother and ensuring the gear sets get coated faster. At higher temps it holds its viscosity better than "manual oil." The ATF also doesn't have any additives that could potentially eat away at the syncros.

@@GhostLead65Not uncommon for Manual Transmission to use ATF believe it or not, I'd always stick to what the Manufacturer Recommends though on a Customer Car.
@ifoundmytv6 күн бұрын
@@khalidacosta7133 the manufacturer also decided not to use corrosion proof hardware... I've been a gearbox builder my entire mechanic life. I've filled thousands of manual boxes with Dexron 3 and done dozens of tests (with my own vehicle) and I haven't had one issue using the ATF in a manual.

@@darrenhearn1365 the oil is fine and I know it's easy for people on a keyboard to say just change it, if it's clean and no metal init it's going back in, if I had any doubt it would 100% get replaced

An elderly driver up my road owned a certain make of car and told me that he wouldn’t buy another one as he had three new clutches in 18 months ! He was a bit deaf and used to reverse off of his drive at about 4K revs slipping the clutch you could smell it half way up the road lol ! I used to think if his foot slips off the clutch he’ll probably demolish half the houses up the street !

It would have been interesting to see the mileage of the car and if it was the original clutch. A 2010 car is likely to be original if owned from new. My 2020 Piccanto is now on 62K and clutch seems fine but I am only 77 . That guy has 19 years on me . Can't believe I'll last that long. Goodness know what motoring will look like in 2043!

How easy is the clutch if you are working on the road? Do you need to pull the offside axle? Can it be done on ramps or axle stands under the body?
