I look after a fleet with quite a few of these d max's, theyre a cracking jeep in my opinion, give a lot of bother with rear main seals from 2010 to 2022ish, seem to run the same powertrain, but even thats such a handy job, very rarely see them give any other bother. Keen to hear your opinion Baz. I know they dont have much spec but in terms of reliability, has to be top 3 for me👍

Love your videos! The way these modern vehicles are designed to break really boils my p**s! Why does a sensor need it's own module? Why does it need to be mounted under the vehicle where it will corrode? why is is so expensive? I wonder. It's all done by design. Extortion. When these vehicles start to age and cost a lot of money, people will go and buy another one which is exactly what they want. In my opinion, you are better off sticking with your old banger for as long as you can because no matter how much goes wrong with it, it will still probably be cheaper than fixing lots of this type of stuff, or 1.6 cdti timing chains etc. newer no longer means less expense on repair work. On another note, I've been outside in the freezing cold the last few days putting an engine back in an R53 Mini Cooper S. Oh what fun! 🤣

I get so many emails and a lot of them go to junk or spam mail, it's so hard to keep up with them all. It's my only downfall is not getting back to people... As much as I want to work on everyone's car my channel isn't run to gain extra business.. it's for enjoyment and my day to day jobs

Ello Baz, i would also do a Ohms test on the Datalink / CAN Bus system, i would expect to see 60 Ohms of resistance ( the voltages maybe there on each CAN Bus wire, but when tested using the resistance setting, it may show a different story /plus wiggle the wires ) more so with it being invalid data received from the NoX sensor. Hope this helps you or someone

I have always changed brake fluid every two years, but I’m curious why the dealer didn’t change the fluid for the owner of the two year old Tiguan. Probably before your time Baz but back in the mid to late 90s you could buy (at a premium price) synthetic brake fluid that didn’t require such regular replacement haven’t heard of it since?
