I know this is a 2yr old video but i recently purchased a new G2C for a great price $219 and was going to order these exact sights thru Taurus .. do you still recommend them? I just don't care for the plastic sights .. only thing i worry about is the rear not being adjustable .. hoping if i get them and install they are pretty much on target at say 7-10 yards as far as elevation, i see you have a little adjustment left and right Thanks for any reply, great job on this video .. i subbed 👍🏻
@BazonBlades Жыл бұрын
I do still recommend them. I think the Ameriglo Spartan sight design is fantastic. I actually like them better than the Trijicon HD's I have on my XD. As far as point of aim/impact they shoot dead on for me. Although I wouldn't ever consider them a "target" sight. Elevation seems fine to me and windage was good after just centering the rear sight. Also keep in mind you will need to use your original mounting screws rather than the screws that come with the night sights. That may be changed now but when I did my install and video it took the factory screws to make them secure.

Installed using original front screw and one of the new supplied screws for rear sight. Aligned them by eyeballing it.... Windage was spot on out to 15 yards (5, 7, 10, 15), but elevation is off about 1/2 inch at 7yds. Hits a little low, but plenty good enough for a self defense pistol. Definitely much much better sights than factory, and the tritium is nice and bright at night. A must have $80 upgrade for these G2C's.

Apparently Taurus does NOT make a particular after market sight for the G2C models. But did these fit perfect? On the site it says for the G3 series only! Thanks. Good video!

They are the correct sights. Early G3 models had the Taurus dovetail but newer G3 models have gone to the Glock dovetail and that is what they are differentiating. The link I provided is for G2c's since they also have the earlier Taurus dovetail. You will be good 2 go with your G2c.

I know it's a year later, but nice video. Also, Amazon has a red dot with G2C mounting plate for $90. It's made by ADE. I used plenty of Loctite on the mounting plate. I've put about 500 rounds through it and had to adjust it once 2 ticks to the left, then it was spot on at 10-15 yards. The battery lasts about 8,000 hours. The tritium night sights are nice though.

Can't get the new front sight to tighten down. The original screw and new screw are the same length and both have about the same amount of unthreaded space just under the head. My original screw is a lot longer than the one you show in the video. I tried it twice, backing the original screw all the way out and then tightening it as much as I could without taking a chance on snapping the head. I'm not sure where to get a screw that might work.
@BladezX9113 жыл бұрын
Did you figure it out? I have the same issues I had to use an extractor to get the original screw out after I stripped it trying to get it to fit snug neither the original or screw supplied would fit.

@@BladezX911 I got a replacement screw that is the same size. The new screw needs to have a thin flat head (not tapered underneath) and the threads must be cut all the way to the underside of the head (i.e., no collar). Then use some purple loctite (blue loctite is not made for screws this small). Haven't taken it to the range, but seems to be holding well. Omg...as I'm watching this, yesterday I put reddish orange (same exactly as yours) nail polish on my factory front sight, bcs that's all my girl had that was bright, and I see this and you did the same thing. I feel smarter now, lol. But I want some night sights, bcs as much as I like this new glock 19 gen 5, I cant leave the house to go to work or anywhere else without my g2c, I wish I could, but my small hands just love this g2c, and after multiple range time with both, my accuracy is exactly the same as the g19.
@BazonBlades3 жыл бұрын
I think the G2c is the perfect "step down" size from a G19. It hits the perfect spot as a real feeling "tool" that is also slightly more compact. I think another more comfortable feature is the rounded front and back strap area of the grip. Rather than the square grip shape of the Glock. I honestly prefer the grip of the G2c over the G3 even. I use the nail polish trick on all my sights unless I change to night sights. At least for my eyes the color on the front sight helps so much with acquisition and focus. And I still recommend the Taurus/Ameriglo night sights if you ever move in that direction.

@BazonBlades Жыл бұрын
They may have used a thread sealer on your front sight. They absolutely should have with this type of front sight. Sounds like your example may require an Allen key to remove. If the thread sealer proves to be too stubborn you may need to heat the screw. You can use a soldering iron to do this. Just touch a hot soldering iron to the screw long enough to heat the thread sealer. Keep in mind that the factory sight is plastic on the G2c. You don't want to overheat the plastic and damage it if you intend on keeping the original sights for whatever reason.

@@richdouche8253 same experience here man,havent shot with them yet to know if its an issue,maybe using some loctite will help,but really dont want to use until for sure
@richdouche82533 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the blue Loctite is just to keep things fastened in place. It's medium strength so you can remove easier down the road. My issue isn't Loctite, it's screws that stop threading into the front sight before they snug up against the slide. When you run the screw into the sight without the pistol in the way you can see the screw stops before it fully seats.... but the threads run all the way thru the sight, so it isn't the sight.... it's the screws. The threads are not cut far enough down the shaft. You can see where they end. The problem also is the location, size and depth of the hex on the screw head making it more challenging to get a hair more leverage to snug it down. It honestly shouldn't be like this. If you supply screws for "G2C" sights... it should work. I'm not an idiot, I would just like to be able to snug them down. Also the boss on the sight should be oval, like the slot in the slide so that would help to align the sight on the centerline of the slide.

If your G3 is a newer model it will feature standard Glock sight compatability. So any sight set made to fit a Glock 19 will work on your G3. I have changed the factory sights on all 3 of my Taurus semi-autos to Ameriglo night sights. I really like their "Spartan Operator" models. But they have multiple styles available. And then there is every other sight company that makes multiple models to fit Glocks. You have literally hundreds of choices. If your G3 is an older model with the dedicated Taurus rear dovetail and plastic adjustable rear sight then your options will be much more limited. In that case I recommend the Taurus/Ameriglo night sight set sold by Taurus. That is what I have on my G2c and G3. They are just Ameriglo Spartan Operators made to fit the Taurus proprietary dovetail.
