@@TannerisSmol97 clearly you didn't read my comment or understand it for that matter. I stated that I was "intimidated with the idea of cleaning" it as it involves taking the firearm apart. I got my brother's G3 when he passed away. I rarely shoot it, mostly carry it on the farm... I realized I've had 4 years and never given it a good clean other than to remove dirt and dust, so I read the manual, then watched a couple videos to get recommendations and general ideas... Your video was by far the most informative, you used the exact phrasing from the manual and made the process painless. Thank you!

Great tutorial - I clean after every range session but I’m usually downing 400 rounds + ( we still have affordable ammo in Canada for now ..) This vid applies to all strikers IMO I use D- wipes or Lead free to handle the gun initially and wipe all the fouling off inside and out so I keep my hands cleaner to start - as I do high round count sessions I’ll run the tool a bit wet- then I do the barrel - set aside like u -I use any CLP - basically same procedure as u - get into extractor , breach face and chamber face with a pick - I’ll root around with a stiff Q-tip to wipe out cleaner and gunk in the little pockets around the lock up and trigger/sear and slide grooves - then wipe off all the cleaner with D- wipes - final dry up with cotton rag ( get them from paint store ) then lube er up - Lucas or Breakthrough I do wipe down the mags and the followers wand Q-tip the interior mag face around the followers I’ll take the mags apart occasionally and get it all done ✅

@@TacticalConsiderations Can still get buy bulk practice brass FMJ 9mm @ $0.26 USD a round but, as handgun use, transport and ownership is highly restricted here and is fundamentally illegal for civilian self defence purposes , only competition shooters do high round count training and a lot of them re-load so our warehoused factory ammo stockpiles haven’t taken a hit like your’s -and most ranges were shut down for months nationwide last year

Do to inconsistency in their quality control and recall issues dating back from 1997 which is still happening in 2004 with some of their GX4 pistols. Won't by their pistols and their revolvers aren't much better. Taurus now recommends people don't carry a round in the chamber in their G2-GX4 pistols, why is this? Perhaps they aren't confident that their pistols are drop safe! If this was S&W people would be down their throat wanting answers. But since it's Taurus it's okay, people are just being complacent. This goes far beyond producing an occasional lemon and if Taurus or any other firearm maker keeps producing this crap? They shouldn't be in business.
@TacticalConsiderations
@TacticalConsiderations 7 ай бұрын
I have not heard they don't recommend carrying with a round in the chamber on the gx4 or any other series. If this gun were 3x the price like SW I would definitely expect 100% reliability and better small parts but its a $200 gun, be realistic.

Hi, I bought a Taurus G3 used from Bass Pro Shops. Next, I purchased Sig Sauer 124 gram elite defense 9mm ammo. The issue is the ammo is getting jammed as I load the weapon. I have tried a few different ammos and new magazines, but the issue still exists. Any suggestions?

My G3 fires every type of ammo. My G3c will only fire FMJs. It will not cycle JHPs. They literally get stuck so hard in the rront if the barrel, that getting the JHP unstuck, breaks the catrdge apart. Im nt sure if the feed ramps are not smooth, or if my barrel is out if spec

Hey TacticalConsiderations. Great video. I've been a new G3C owner for the past few months. However, I have not fired it yet on a range because either 1) there is no place to practice where I live currently that is within reasonable driving distance. Or 2), I can't fire on my folks property, even though they live out in the rural country and the sticks. Reason being is because they live within the main town's city limits. City ordinance does not allow the firing of weapons, even if you're literally 100 yards within the city limits and from the outskirts, like my folks are. Anyway, long winded explanation over. So like I said, I'm a new gun owner, but I have not fired my handgun yet. Because I haven't fired it yet, should I still go through the whole process as if I just came back from the range, (such as cleaning the barrel, all the moving parts, the frame, etc.) instead of just oiling and lubing up my handgun? Thanks.

I don't expect to get a lot for it, but this little extra TLC might get me a tad more $, but more importantly will make sure its next owner has a strong & well functioning used firearm as i can get it.

Great video, however, I think it would’ve been wise to not be cleaning stuff hovering over the parts that you’ve already cleaned; because anything that you’re brushing off of the dirty parts that you’re working on is just gonna land onto the cleaned parts of the firearm

I bought 2 G2Cs in 9mm. I gave one to my ex and just they just run. The one I kept hasn’t had any problems in probably 1500 rounds. I bought another on .40 and with a full mag, won’t go into complete battery. Any ideas? It was pretty dry out of the box and didn’t get a spent casing like my other pistols.

I'd dry fire the crud out of it and do 2-3 clean and lubes then try again. The taurus stuff can be gritty from the factory and maybe not as finished as others that can cause hang ups.

I absolutely love my G3C 9mm I've had no problems @ all with it. I run 124gr FMJ & Gold Dot +p 124gr Iv also have lakeline Barrel & springs. Adjustable spring-loaded rear sights front sight back sight fiber optic and I run G3 20 round Clips. I've had gotten it in July 2020 and I practice with it once a week religious and have run at least 1,000 rounds in it. I highly recommend this pistol to anyone! and to go to Lakeline lcc and upgrade everything on it like I did And get a quality adjustable rear sight that fits a Glock 17 fiber optic front and rear sights you'll be amazed I fully trust this pistol with my life in a defensive situation if needed. 2A 🇺🇸 2A

I'm a recent G3x owner and I had jamming issues right off the bat. These guns do not fair well with aluminum casings #1 so I suggest brass rounds. But this one also jammed with brass, I contacted Taurus and they asked me if I took a dremel and polished the feed ramp. I asked why, response was it needs to be polished b4 use. I was like on a brand new gun? I shouldn't have to do that on a new pistol that should be something you do b4 it leaves the factory. They did have me send it in and they did warrenty repairs at no cost for shipping or the parts and labor. Excellent warranty. I shot two clips it seemed to work fine just cleaned it and will do another test today b4 I trust this gun to be my personal carry gun. Im a SCCY fan.i love mine so well see..But I will stress i won't be using anything but brass in this. Other than that it's a comfortable pistol not bad recoil. Hope all goes well today.
