This was my favourite tune out of all the dramas. I love the way the music was written. It gave you a feeling of terror, fear, and suspense right at the edge of your seat wondering if they will save them or will these people survive. It added to the "Please don't die" drama effect. Then it switched over to a much more heartwarming melody with a sense of heroic efforts by the emergency services right towards the very end with a soft slowing piano to give it a nice warm happy ending with a feeling of hope. 999's theme absolutely wiped the floor with Casualty and E.R's dramatic themes.

I loved the final triumphant "999" fanfare with the quiet piano at the very end. To me, it symbolised, "We're here... and you're safe now."
