I can listen to him all day.His books,all except Grimus are suberb journey into history & pricks the ego's of the rich,mighty & powerful.

I think it's a mix of the British and South Bombay/Mumbai accents.

@@prashhaanth it’s very interesting, because I just watched a BBC documentary on him from 1981, and he sounded totally English then. Those ever so slightly Indian plosive consonants must have been a conscious decision later. It’s quite subtle though.

@@marksummers9351 might be the other way around too. I've observed that after the Satanic verses threat, his interviews in the mid 1990's he has a hybrid sort of an accent. He probably let loose...
