I know that his organ has had a major relatively recent rebuild by Harrisons but have to say the 1970 work by Nicholson's (on this recording) resulted in a fine sounding instrument despite it containing five makes and ages of pipework. Almost all the Swell pipework from that organ was been retained in the Harrison rebuild as well so some pipework from the other divisions such as most of the Great upperwork.

John R - they got rid of the Trompetta Real on the solo and the Pedal Contra Ophicleide . The rebuilt organ I think sounds great but hasnt got much Oomf in the pedal

It's the Jubilate Gloria. We do it like this at Wakefield as well.

Blimey- he comes in on a B rather than an F#! Quickly recovers though, but I bet poor old Trepte shed a stone in that moment as it was a live broadcast!
