Tracy says going out to clean toilets is no example for her children. That really offends me firstly if some one is doing that as their job it’s an honest working living. I was a single parent with three children and did just that !!!!!!!!!!! I went out and cleaned and took my 6mnth old baby with me, i admit he was a good baby and slept well. At the same time i studied for a degree If i had not worked cleaning houses I wouldn’t have given my kids the the incentive to go out and make a difference to your life. I earned a god job, and owning outright my own home. All my kids either went to uni or earned a trade, and never once have they said they are ashamed I worked as a house cleaner. Any one who works hard should be respected.

@@christopherwright8811 Child support, when you decide to leave the relationship, alone, is often prohibitive. Think about it, paying 500 pounds a month is a credit payment on a sports car, and that is what the state thinks you, if you got a taxable income of around 5k, should spend on the child. Yet there are legitimately people who believe it's rational the government pays for their 7 children. Absolute madness, this also has the consequence that a lot more children are born in bad economic situations and we know from statistics that these kids often remain dependent on welfare for their life. Great way to ruin a country. Ultimately the encompassing welfare we had in all modern european countries over the last few decades was an experiment thats not panning out. As harsh as that may sound, the kids got a better chance in the system than with these parents. It's not at all unreasonable to demand people like this to get sterilized to remain on welfare. I doubt a single working taxpayer would willingly pay for this family if asked directly. The entitlement is insane.

I agree with this benefit cap. The government has allowed people to think it's more beneficial to be on benefits. What that does is, it makes people comfortable and then afraid to change their circumstances in the fear they'll loose their benefits. When I was 16, I had a child. I was lucky, I had a job and made good money but not enough to pay all the bills. The benefits really helped me. I used the benefits I got to complete my education, I got my degree and then when my daughter was 4, went into full time work. Those benefits were a god send for me but I always wanted better. I'm 37 now, in London and a daughter who is all grown up and living independently. Benefits are there to help families not to support for the rest of their lives.

You think that this is good, Om Nama? It is ridiculous that people take such shitty care of their own lives, have many more children than they can support, and then go to another country to let those people take over their burdens when the UK people have burdens of their own. They and their parents and their grandparents and great-grandparents paid TAXES in the UK to build their country, to build the social welfare system to take care of BRITONS when they became ill or injured. They did not plan to take care of the entire world full of wastrels who refuse to work, who come from countries where it is fine to take advantage of your government and your friends. I don't care if they only make minimal wage working at restaurants - they should be FORCED to go to a job. I only had two children - that is all I could afford to raise. I would have loved to have more but I knew I could not do it on my wages, so I kept my family the size that I could afford to take care of on my own without expecting my government to do it for me.

Why the people from Afghan , Pakistan, Africa etc, travelled long way paying huge money to traffickers to come Europe. Because of benefits.The tax payer money have been misused from long time, this money could be used for protecting borders from where everyday these people come to seek asylum, deporting the illegals. crime rates have risen dramatically, and so on. I paid off all my debt and saved everything I made to create as large a buffer as possible between me and hard times. I watched this English documentary because I thought I’d identify with them somehow. But I was honestly shocked to see an immigrant woman with 2 children who hasn’t had any job at all for 12 years?! And she was complaining to the Brits trying to find her a place to sleep that it wasn’t good enough?! The refugee man had 7 kids and complained the Brits didn’t do enough for his children, as if it’s their citizens tax dollars and governments responsibility to provide a life for them? I couldn’t believe my ears. The Brit woman won’t work 16 hours a week?! A week to improve her situation and had the nerve to say the government was “happy to evict her.” It sounded like she was happy to ignore her minimum responsibility of working 16 hours s week to stay in her apartment and blamed them! I’m sure it’s hard to live in England, especially London if you’re low income, but wow. These people come to a foreign country and expect British citizens to pay for everything they need and actually get angry because they are asked to work 16 hrs/wk or move to another area? Who asked that couple to have 7 kids when he only makes 150/wk? Kids may have to change schools.... so what? Changing schools in primary isn’t “devastating” for a little kid. They’ll all have a new best friend in a week. That lady who left Ethiopia 12 years ago, says she has NEVER worked but has gotten everything for free, paid for by a country that’s not even hers and she’s furious that the government is “tearing apart her family” because her 12 year old doesn’t want to go. Too bad! She’s 12! Who’s the parent?! That was infuriating to watch.

@@henselot Same old rhetoric but tiring after a while. First of all, Britain did not create the Palestine problem, I'd say it was the Jews and the Arabs refusal to establish an Entente Cordiale and work things out so that the two peoples could live in harmony. As for colonisation and looting, won't contest you there, but that was quite a long time ago and perhaps the Africans themselves should take some responsability for their sorry lot. There are very few African countries which can boast democratic elections. It seems that African presidents hang on to power like crab lice on pubic hair. Robert Mugabe, for example, was in power for, wait for it, 37 years. He brought Zimbabwe to its knees. Fault of Britain do you think that a lot of African leaders are power-crazy, greedy, corrupt and prefer to pander to their cronies rather than have the problems of their people at heart. You do know that Brazil was colonised by the Dutch, by the British, by the Portuguese. Today Brazil is the 8th largest economy far in front of Portugal, 33rd I believe, their once coloniser. If I take heed of your theory, Europe should be flooded by Brazilians but it isn't. India isn't doing too badly either despite British colonisation which spanned over 200 years, wonder why. Perhaps you have the answer.

My flat was also in an awful state, the whole flat was yellow as the previous occupant was a smoker. Took months for me to clean it all up. Let's be clear at the start: I'm not British, I'm from Serbia, so I think I can say a few things objectively. The children are not the problem here, the problem is level of entitlement of some people who are used to get something so much that now they believe it's their right! The amount of rudeness from some of these people annoys me so much that I had to go train in the middle of the night to calm down. So you came to a foreign country. The government of that country made it possible for you to live at the expense of its citizens who pay for it out of their own pockets, they gave you a roof over your head, they give you money for food, they enable you to have health insurance, they educate your children, and all this without you doing anything . And despite all that, you have the nerve to argue, make excuses, feign madness and choose where you're going?! No, this is really too rude, so where would you go, my friend, do you want to live next to the Buckingham Palace, not work, and have others pay for it all?! Hahaha, I wish they could just put them in my country for a few weeks, they'd beg and beg for the most remote British countryside after that, and still say thank you if they got it.

@@tiffanyyoung9671 I understand in some ways why this change was bought about but I think it could of been done in better ways, the thing is I know there are those who are stuck and at that time are best to be on benefits but it doesnt mean well, I'm on benefits now I dont need to and in quite a few I dont want to work ( and I know this with a few old friends I haven spoke to in years where they can bluff the jobcentre and get paid for doing absolutely NOTHING and ain't even looking for work ). I also know it's hard looking for work if you've got younger kids ( I have 2 ) and trying to fit in with child care or family and I know childcare can be quite expensive, but they do allow 30 hours free if I remember correctly. I also know that jobs lately arent easy to come by. They also made the cap for those who think the more kids I can pop out the more money I'm going to get too and then when they cant cope and have too many they are put into care. Also I'm going to say it those who are coming over here setting up a free life for themselves, then bringing their whole families over to claim free too. This country is drowning itself, unfortunately I'm living in it, but what I get the gist of is work 16 hours as a single or 24 hours as a couple you keep whatever you're getting, it ain't like it says find 40 hrs a week and we'll pay your rent, but some are too lazy too look for the 16 and to be Frank dont want to, its given those who WANT to find work a bad stigma and thats what I dont like, along with the sly people who claim sick when theres nothing wrong with them at all!!!

Stranded in Utah Because you think ahead and plan. It hard to understand that some people have so little common sense, they just do what they do in the moment, spend whatever they have in the moment and don't worry about the future. Problem is, they then expect others to get them off the hook.

Joe Blow well it’s the government fault, they allowed this to go on for so many years, these people never felt the need to work because they didn’t have to, the more children they had the bigger the house they could get etc. It’s the government fault

Brandy Bradley it is indeed, but if there wasn’t the opportunity to live such life they wouldn’t be able to do it.
@bbjjbb616 жыл бұрын
I guess. This could go around and around. If it was used for it's original purpose it wouldn't be such a problem. I've been at the bottom before. There's no shame in needing help. The problem starts when people don't want anything better and don't want to live a good example for their kids. If help wasn't available, people who really needed it would genuinely be in trouble. In my state and maybe even the whole USA there's a 5 year lifetime limit and it's not enough to live on. They're also required to put in 80 hours a month of some type of community service or job training program. That's actually a good thing I believe.

That man upsets me so much. When I was young we had to move many times after my father passed away my mum worked so hard but we had to move from emergency house to house and what made it all okay was my mums attitude no matter where we were was positive oh wow look how nice this room is even if the rest of the house was falling apart. He is going to massively affect the kids attitude and how they will survive this new school and life.
