@jawapowa Match of the Day has been on television screens since 1964. Football existed before Sky Sports.

I absolutely LOVE this intro. I'm not interested in how good or bad the Graphics are, it's the spirit of the whole thing that matters. I have a nostalgic sigh every time I see it. I understand the point about Giggs, but it was bound to dissapoint some people. For instance Teddy Sheringham?

@jawapowa Match of the Day is a programme that shows the highlights of all TOP FLIGHT and FA CUP matches. And has done exactly that for 50 years. Why on earth would it only show players from the prem era? MOTD has no loyalty or direct affiliation with the PL, only the rights to show top flight football. Only Sky seem insistant on erasing history, MOTD quite rightly pays homage to it's past.

@SuperARandall David Beckham used to play for Man Utd, that's why he's in it. There's no such thing as the Premier League FA Cup Final; there's the Barclays Premier LEAGUE and the FA Cup. Chelsea won the league last season, and also won the FA Cup which is a knockout tournament. And btw it's football not soccer lol

@mancity1000 looks fake? it is fake.. considering how they used old video with newer crisp quality videos, it's bound to like slightly off. I think this is the most imagintive and smartly done intros for any sports programme ever. Some people are never satisfied.

The idea is a good, if not old, one. But it's been done so badly. It's the intro version of MS Paint when they should have used Photoshop.
