Thierry Henry is the reason I started watching the English Premier League in 2001. He scored a lot of goals, created a lot of goals, and played elegantly. No one has won the golden boot more times (4) and no one has provided more assists in a season (20). He was also a part of the legendary ‘invincibles’ team that went the whole 2003/2004 season unbeaten.

Coming from a Chelsea fan since 1995.... there is only one answer, it's Thierry Henry. There has never been another player like him. He was as graceful as a ballerina and as devastating as Mike Tyson. Never seen anyone score a range of beautiful goals like him. He also assisted plenty of goal and was extremely unselfish. He scored the kind of goals that is the reason you watch football for. Pretty much every player who played against him said he was the toughest opponent. Just ask John Terry or Jamie Carragher who played against the very best. They both said Henry was the toughest. John Terry said more than once, that Henry gave him a bad feeling before a game, and no other player had that effect on him.

@Blized im 29 and Ronaldo at united was better than Henry ever was during his time at Arsenal. He even scored more goals in a PL season when he played as a winger (31 - 2007-2008 season against Henry's 30 during 2003-2004 season). This doesn't take into account assists, dribbles and general game contributions, which obviously ronaldo smashed Henry in every aspect. Ronaldo is light years ahead of Henry, he is up there with the top 5 players of all time ffs, anyone who thinks Henry was a better PL player is simply a deluded Arsenal fan.

Henry scored against 34 of 35 Premier League opponents he faced. The only team he did not score against were Swansea, against whom he played for just 24 minutes in a substitute appearance in 2012 when he came back on loan. So, prior to his comeback, he had a perfect record against every Premier League opponent. He won the world cup with france in 1998. and the euros in 2000. He is France's record goalscorer with 51 goals. Arsenal's all time leading goalscorer with 228. Henry was the runner-up for the FIFA World Player of the Year. He was named the PFA Players' Player of the Year twice, and the FWA Footballer of the Year three times, and has been named in the UEFA Team of the Year five times. He won 2 FA cups and 2 league titles with Arsenal.

Bergkamp on ability alone. He would do things on the pitch that other players couldn't imagine, never mind actually execute. A truly remarkable talent. It has to be Thierry Henry. He was world class in each of his 8 seasons in the prem. When he was at the peak of his powers he played in the prem at the highest of levels of which only him and Ronaldo have done whilst playing in the prem. Ronaldo played in the prem from the age of 18-24. So he wasn’t in his prime. And he only became a world class player in 2006/07, in his 4th season, so he was only at the top for 3 seasons of his career in the prem. I’d say Ronaldo produced the best individual season by any prem player in history in 2007/08. But Henry did it consistently over a long period of time. If Ronaldo had stayed up until Fergie retired then there would be no debate. Ronaldo would be the best to ever play in the league. I’d not even put Ronaldo 2nd however. I’d give 2nd to Aguero and then 3rd to Ronaldo.

Thats what made Ronaldinho so special. Spanish media went on a 2 week coverage on how to stop Thierry in 2006, even with Zidane, Beckham and Ronaldo on their side. Thierry went to Inter Milan to absolutely demolish the San Siro. He went into the 2006 CL final and all eyes were on Thierry, against Ronaldinho and Eto’o. He was a mountain of a man. And yes, he also won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2009. For a good 5-6 years he was by far the best player on the planet. How Nedved and Chevchenko won the Balon D’Or ahead of him is still incredible. Thierry Henry. Never forget that name.

@ismail adam Ronaldo 06-07, 07-08, 08-09! 3 consecutive best player in the epl by a mile! Alongwith this he won 3 consecutive leagues, champions league, PFA player of the year, ballon d'or! Just because a player was there in a league for 7-8 years, doesn't mean he is better than Ronaldo! Henry couldn't achieve what Ronaldo achieved despite being in the epl for double the time!

Records- Henry - 2 PL, 2 player of the season, 4 golden boots, 4 times player of the month in his long illustrious career! No champions league with so no international honours for his English side! Ronaldo- 3 consecutive PL, 2 consecutive player of the season, 1 golden boot ( despite being a winger), 4 times player of the month, champions league( means brought international glory to an English side). We won't mention ballon dor here :) Henry- 175 goals in 258 apps, really good record, really good striker! But as a complete player he doesn't stand a chance! 600 passes in his illustrious long career! 1 freekick scored in those 8-10 years. Crosses 64. Assists 74. Defensively - interceptions 4. Clearances 6. Ronaldo- 84 goals in 196 PL games. Passes 3500. Freekicks- 11 scored. Assists 34. Crosses 427. Defensively- 41 interceptions. 60 clearances. It's just a overview! And we all know who was a bigger game changer on his day. Thiery henry awesome player, but Ronaldo we have to admit was in a league of his own :)

@ismail adam I agree Henry had a better career in the premier league. I never said he didnt. But saying Henry is the best footballer ever to play in the premier league is ludicrous. Henry didn't win the balon for and never got close to the number of goals Ronaldo has scored in his career. Yes Henry may be the premier league's best player but he's not the best footballer ever to play in the premier league
