I really think Michael Buerk is the greatest bbc newsreader of all time. Incredible presence on screen and a terrific correspondent in the years beforehand. (People will argue Huw Edwards is better but he was only a Westminster reporter and never did any dangerous, significant stuff).

A reporter/presenter convey only the news regardless, the message was the same - regality makes no difference who does what.
