Actually Shaun the sheep originated from Wallace and Gromit, first appearing in the 3rd Wallace and Gromit short film a close shave alongside a flock of sheep, Shaun's popularity boomed, his merch was outselling the other Wallace and Gromit merch and he was incredibly popular, this managed to spawn himself his own spin off show, which I personally regard as non canon the the Wallace and Gromit universe due to the severely different way they portray Shaun
