BBC Radio 4 is wonderfull. A cliche but the pictures are better on radio.

this is my favorite rendition of this story, which has been rewritten in various ways. they’re all good, but this one, with such acting, has the most suspense. 😧 Thank you much, much :) 😺🌷🌱

This story was made into the movie, The Curse of the Demon starring Dana Andrews. It was suitably creepy. Scared me as a kid.
@jwsuicides80952 жыл бұрын
Not watched it since a kid and you're right...the ending was unusual with its special effects for those days.
@arthurbaldwin18042 жыл бұрын
It was actually called Night of the Demon and did contain some good special effects for 1956.
@arthurbaldwin18042 жыл бұрын
Actually it was Night of the Demon. You can still get it on DVD. The demon sequences were very good for the time, the one that got me was the disembodied cloven footprints appearing with a wisp of smoke in the ground coming after Dana Andrews when he was in the woods at night.
@xanaduhouseguest Жыл бұрын
@@arthurbaldwin1804 Actually it is known by both titles - Night of the Demon in the UK and Curse of the Demon when it was released in the US (which is why Dana Andrews was "parachuted in" to play the male lead in an otherwise UK cast). It is a fine piece of work possibly only let down a little by revealing "the Demon" very early on in the film, but suitably scary nevertheless.

I listened to a similar period radio drama recently where A woman disappears and her body is never recovered. The woman’s sister travels to the home where her late sister lived, suspecting foul and discovers that the sister was killed by her husband and secretly buried under a rose bush. This radio drama I’m describing also has a supernatural note where the dead woman contacts her sister to aid her in finding her dead body. What is the name of this radio drama?

Too heavy on the sound effects by far! Unsubtle, distracting and diluting the overall effect of the play.

Great story but I wish they would back way off on the Foley (the background noises), especially while people are talking. And with the overtalking in the beginning, I actually missed most of the TV interview and had to simply intuit that the interview went badly. It's very hard to hear two things at once, but audio people seem to refuse to believe that.

Mogadon mild! That dates this. They used to prescribe mogadon to psychiatric patients which’d turn them into walking “zombies” called “the mogadon shuffle”
@cpryce64367 ай бұрын
In my younger days it was the Largactil shuffle ☺️ I was prescribed chlorpromazine for moderate depression age 18, and had been given Ativan for sleepwalking age 12! 😮
