I feel I should remember this. But nice to see I once was thin with a cool haircut and an ability to chat on and off air...

Great to see how radio used to be done ... before computers took over!

I loved the news presenter and that segment showing her live work there. Pretty amazing. and what talent! What the hell is going on with the faders, though? Pushing them up turns them down? I love it. This must be a British thing?

@@markg6860 I know - much better for live radio i think. I miss them. I reckon i could still get a show on the air with one of those old BBC Local Radio mk3 desks. Lovely desks. News on outside source point 10, travel on point 3, phones point 19 and 20. Desk channels were (left to right): Gram/CD 1, Gram/ CD 2, Outside sources were faders 3, 4, 5 and 6. Re-Broadcast source was 7, then cubicle mics 1, 2 and 3, studio mic, echo, then tape 1 and tape 2 (switchable to two extra cart machines) and finally channels 13, 14 and 15 was cart 1, 2, and 3. I know, its very, very sad that I can remember that, but I can't remember my PIN number! ! !

It was made for the broadcast journalism courses at the University of Central Lancashire. I found it sitting on a shelf when I joined and had it digitised as it is a gem! Also interesting as I worked at Radio Lancashire 5 years after this video was made :)
