I'm sorry, the extremely melodramatic framing and music made me crack up. "Sadly the patient was hit with the worst symptom possible. She turned French"

the comments on this page are so bad.. it must be a horrible feeling to not know who you are, not knowing your identity, all of a sudden.. i hope she is dealing better with this now.. It must take something very powerful to create this kind of change in someone..

Interesting that it actually changed pitch too. The new accent is deeper.

She does't have a foreign accent, our brains *perceive* a foreign accent...This woman has a speech disability and should be treated with respect.

even when u have a foreign accent u should be treated with respect not only when u have a disability

Well, after studying English for 2 years on a remote farm while having nearly no opportunity to speak my mother tongue or read in it, I acquired a British accent in my mother tongue (it took me 3 months to bring it down to a bearable level) and became the first person in my country to get a CPE. Some people who can bear a solitary confinement for long can easily replicate my experiment.

I would love to have a French accent. But one thing I'm curious when this happens to people, do they also have other things change in their life? For example Maybe somebody that didn't like to cook now the sudden to have an obsession to cook like a professional chef. Or maybe somebody that wasn't into plants now loves plants.

To be honest her accent now sounds nice.

Stephen Sansom to answer the question. It's not. It also affects men. There's one person I know who has this syndrome too. He's a gamer.

This is my own opinion, it is a past life for instance if someone was Russian in a past life they would not remember the actual language but they would speak English with a Russian accent the only thing that puzzles me is why this seems to happen to mostly to women. and in most cases nothing out the ordinary happens they just go to bed one night to wake up in the morning speaking with a foreign accent.
@yuimurakami60556 жыл бұрын
how about just imitating your old accent??
@Twiddle_things9 ай бұрын
It's a lot harder and less natural. Sure, you can do it for a bit, but you'll likely find yourself slipping. And this isn't something voluntary. Your very brain is affected. You can't unstroke the stroke
