In January 1970, a 16 year old South Shields girl, Eileen McDougall disappeared without trace. Nine years later, the remains of a young girl were found in a petrol storage tanker at Velva Liquids in South Shields.

In 1979 the naked, dismembered body of a young girl was found in a petrol storage tank in South Shields. Forensic scientists were able to identify her and to say that she could have been in the tank for as long as nine years Even more surprisingly, the police were able to convict a man of her murder. ,
Ernie Clarke got life. He's still serving his sentence in Wakefield Jail. For the past year the Rough Justice team has been re-investigating his case.
They have now -with the help of a leading forensic scientist-totally discredited the main evidence against Clarke.
Rough Justice demonstrates how Clarke Should never have been convicted.
