Thank You for sharing this Wonderful Drama. The Acting and the Delivery is Excellent ! Listening to Received English being spoken is a pure joy when so many Actors of today just mumble their way through a script ! 🙂
this was by far one of the most enjoyable stories I've listened to recently. love the numerous twists in it and love the ending!

Hello Lisa! I am so glad that you enjoyed it and as I said in another comment, I had a device issue, it decided to quit on me this week but my new one is finally here and I am working on new uploads as we speak to get this train back on track! Thank you so much for listening and hanging around, I appreciate it -Amanda 😉👋

Subscribed! I LOVE the old Saturday Night Theatre. Doesn't have to be extreme to be gripping and dramatic. Great acting and thank the Lord, clear speech! Thank you! ❤️🤗🇬🇧

This listen was just so wonderful! The lapse in sound at times was inconsequential. I loved the storyline and everything else about this play. BRAVO! Thank you for presenting this for us!

You are very welcome. I know some of the programs aren't perfect, but I try to find the best copy I can (some are just quite awful actually). Thanks for being here and I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🤗 -Amanda

Excellent! Well worth a listen. Sound quality not too good at the end but is audible.
@oldtimeradioatnight2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do apologize for that! I know that a lot of the uploads are not perfect as many of them are very old and they come from the public domain, and with my tiny channel that can't be monetized (KZbin will not monetize this channel because I upload these BBC plays, which is not how I started the channel because my love is of Old Time Radio Shows... as per the name of this channel; but people seem to love these plays so I take one for the team). I just do not have the $ for the correct programs to make old radio recordings that were sometimes made 50-60+ years ago sound better. However, there is a another channel that is excellent and you can check them out and see if they have a better version of it. The name of that channel is "Chesterton Radio." I really appreciate you listening and for being here and I also appreciate your comment as well! I hope you have a great weekend, it most certainly has to be going better than mine has thus far!😉👋-Amanda

Excellent ! Intelligent and witty with impeccable " old school " cast . ie. no hideous regional accents . Or box ticking agenda .
@davidsandz21862 жыл бұрын
Previously, in another post, you suggested that I was "stalking you"....you flatter yourself....I am an avid lover of radio plays and as such I enjoy reading what other listeners have thought about whichever play I have just heard....therefore I occasionally come across names, like yours, that I have seen before....I have also allowed myself to reply, either in agreement or disagreement, to many other listeners posts....I believe it's called discussion. Anyway, here's a short list of writers who would have spoken in "hideous regional accents" : Shakespeare (and his actors), Wordsworth, Milton, Yeats, Blake, Keats, the Brontes, Hardy, Stevenson, Gaskell, Burns, Austen, Conan-Doyle and so many more....your description of their, I think beautiful, accents as being "hideous" betrays someone with a very small mind.
@2msvalkyrie529 Жыл бұрын
Not ALL regional accents are hideous . I'll admit . Some are perfectly pleasant. Others less so . That's widely agreed upon . Except by contarians making spurious arguments . Maybe let other commenters decide . ? Who would they rather listen to for an hour ? James Mason OR Nicola Sturgeon..?

Scottish accents are wonderful 😊

Those that are comprehensible. Yes. Others , alas , less so. To be fair : Manc accents are almost as irritating......

Bit of a faux pas; the man Marcus bumps into says Autumn is upon us now, next thing you hear is a cuckoo! Wrong season for cuckoo's but love this play, first heard it about 8 years ago - always love hearing 'Paul Temple's' voice!
