David Wright, the organist departed us a couple of days ago.. He was the pillar of musical education in Boston for 50 years.. I owe my career to his careful stewardship as a Grammar School lad..

I was seven at the time and remember Songs of Praise, including Geoffrey Wheeler. The tune is in D minor, although it ends with a Picardy Third (listen for the F#). It was another seven years before I became a Christian and five before I started going to church. Personally, I don't like the signature tune as when growing up it sounded sinister!
