BBC World News - 0700 BST, 11 Sep 2001

Assorted bits and pieces from the 0600 GMT (7am London time, 8am Berlin) BBC World News bulletin, on Tuesday 11 September 2001. Presented by Martine Dennis (with the main news), Tanya Beckett (business news) and Dominic Cotton (sports news).
Couple of curios:
This was a week into the new European Breakfast strand on BBC World, that ran from 5-8am London time. The first hour, which was also broadcast on BBC One in the UK, was branded 'The World Today'. As can be seen here, the next two hours, whilst following the same format, were known as simply 'BBC News'.
Looking at the headlines in this bulletin, you'd be forgiven for thinking it would be a fairly slow news day. Of course, six hours later, the world changed forever...
