Wish I could do that when I'm choking.

Good you can't, when you're choking the food fell into trachea, if you pushed it further it would block your lungs and kill you. Just don't breathe while swallowing so epiglottis will separate your respiratory system only part from digestive system part.

There's no video on HOW frogs eat prey so big like tarantulas or scorpions. Like, what about being inside a frog makes the prey NOT use their stingers or defenses? I've been looking all night!!!

I own one Do frogs have a large prey squirming inside of their stommach, they will sort of suck in the left side of their bodies,, which is where the stomach is located By this, the prey is crushed to death by the internal walls of the frog closing in on it and stop squirming, I know this because I've heard cicadas screaming inside a frog and the frog will do that muscular contraction thing and the cicadas will instantly shut up, this also happens when my frog eats mice and they stay alive from inside Some frogs like Pac-Man frogs and African bullfrogs actually have powerful jaws, basically a mini version of a crocodile

Could a frog choke on a piece of food that's too big? What would happen?
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can happen that a frog overestimates its ability to swallow its prey and chokes on it, though this is very rare. Frogs sometimes can be just a bit too voracious. I've seen a video of a frog trying to swallow a cygnet about ten times its size. Obviously, this was beyond impossible to do, but the frog would not let go of the creature's head, while the poor bird twitched and hopelessly tried to escape. Cannibalism is fairly common among most species of frogs, and there have been instances of people finding a pair of dead frogs, one trying to eat the other, and choking on it, while the other has suffocated having the head stuck inside the belly of the first one.

@ Thank you for your response!! So I'm assuming the frog wouldn't be able to spit out the food that's too big, and it would choke to death on it?

The whole inside of a frog's mouth is sticky, the saliva of a frog have a consistency of honey Arthropods have an exoskeleton, exoskeleton to be able to move, you must have joints in between each segment, my legs antennas and wings and the places where the thorax and abdomen connect, which is essential for a stinger to work When a bug is a bug is captured and swallowed by a frog, , this action covers the bug completely with all this sticky saliva and it fets into all these jointed areas and gums them up, the bug can't move its legs its abdomen its wings it's mandibles, nothing It's unable to move until it gets into the frog's stomach or the acid washes off the saliva,

@@CB41510 of course it has to fully swallow it first, If you see a video where a frog is penis and it hasn't swallowed it, they just stopped the video because it would take too long for the snake to swallow Also frogs can contract their stomach muscles to crush things inside of your stomach so it'll be folded up to fit

Frogs usually only accept live food so it's understandable to feed them live prey. Also, comparing frogs eating bugs and cats eating frogs is inaccurate. Cats will literally torture their prey while frogs crush them instantly. Not to mention this is education content.

@@jamt9159 well. a frog is a living thing, that needs food. it's just a part of nature to eat even if it's not catched?
