What a phenomenal actress. At first -- and maybe second and third-- glance, you would never know that was Lady Mary. I am so glad she included the intro to the song-- I recorded SOTR a capella, 7 times, melody and 6 harmonies, and several people said they hadn't even known that the intro existed until they heard my version.

That was beautiful. I used to sing that song to my mother when I was taking care of her the last couple years of her life. We played a recording of Ella Fitzgerald singing Over the Rainbow at my mother's graveside service. I haven't been able to sing that song since she died in 2022, it was really emotional listening to it now.

Thankfully, they let her sing this "live," rather than lip syncing to a prerecorded studio version, as is usually done in movies and TV. The immediacy of the performance, the live timbre, and the genuine reaction of the other actors to her real performance made the scene incredibly affecting.

I have no idea what this show is and I feel like I've watched the entire series from this one clip. This scene is beyond comparison for what it stirs in my soul. No one could have added any more than they did and what everyone added created a beautiful harmony to her vocals and incomparable performance. I can't stop crying and I didn't even really like this song that much. It will never be that way again.
