There's another lesson in that PIF: After you've filled your fountain pen, immediately put the cap back on the ink bottle, and close it firmly. Especially if you have a cat. Even without the label, I recognise that bottle. It's Parker Quink, Britain's most popular brand of ink, the same brand shown in the credits of "As Time Goes By".

Nice to see a full menu sequence for the next night's programming from March 84. Voiced by the late, great Ray Moore. The unmistakable and very comforting voice of Peter Brook in the continuity chair for the closedown routine. From an era before the announcer gave themselves a name check " on behalf of all of us on BBC1, this is xxxx wishing you a very goodnight. Goodnight!"
