I am german and when the whole ordeal with the Pandemic started in 2020, my irish friend introduced me to this show and we pretty much watched the whole show through the lockdown. One of the funniest british comedies i have ever watched and i am eternally grateful that he showed it to me.

When there was stuff on the BBC that was actually worth watching, comedy gold , my favorite was when "Jumbo" the Australian said "you think I'm bald don't ya" and uncle Albert responded "well that's a hell of a parting you've got there son" , Buster Merryfield's timing and delivery was perfect.

One of the hallmarks of great comedy is being able to watch it time and time again, know exactly when the punchlines are coming, yet still laugh like a drain at them! A wonderful show - great casting, well acted and superbly written. A few quick examples - coffee and gravy, the Shadow, Trigger's broom, "rhinoceros", the auction scene, Arnie in the ambulance. I could go on!

I know many people reckon that the funniest OFAHs scene is Del falling through the bar, but for me it has to be Batman and Robin "to the rescue". I can still remember the tears that rolled down my face watching this scene the very first time it aired on TV, Christmas day 1996.

My granddad introduced this to me when i was a kid, remember it still being on air at the time, he used to record them on video, no matter how many time you watch it, its never fails to make you laugh, as a kid the scene where Del pretended to be the ghost when granddad was talking to the ashes had me in tears. Too many scenes to even say whats the funniest but one that sticks out is when Albert it talking about the german girl he fancied who had a finger missing. And how when he watches a war film and hears the word nein, he thinks of her, to Rodney's reply "what because thats how many fingers she had" kills me

Who actually cried when they finally hit it big?! The amount of times we’d seen them lose out on a big deal and end the show with “this time next year we’ll be millionaires” then finally they did a special where they make it and become rich, it’s was priceless, we all love David Jason, a British icon and a true legend, all the cast have a special place in the British public hearts.

When the BBC did GREAT comedy. They did so many comedies too. Now sadly no longer. But glad we have these. I dont watch TV no more but watch often these greats including OFAH's. Glad people all over the world can enjoy these too!

There's a scene in 'It's only rock and roll' which is really brilliant yet never gets a mention and it's when Del's on the phone playing the Bachelors' song My Diane in the background to con a guy into believing it's Rodneys group and book him for St Patrick's night. The acting/timing is superb!
