It was fake!! cut and edited. The lion attacked by the hyenas was old and ill. Around 6 or 7 different videos cut and added together to make this. It's becoming a new trend these days. The same goes to the snakes and the Iguana. I heard stories about these documentary makers deliberately injure, weaken or kill animals and many other horrible things to make it more dramatic or interesting. These must be stopped.

@@Odignridk Nah not really. I read that once a filming crew waited like 3 months just to see a special species of a bird do a mating dance. And to get those background shots where the sun sets in like the best way possible, they have to wait a long time as well. There's just so much patience put into this that when we see it and its all edited, we think its fake cuz it looks to good.

The ending scene sort of bothers me. Neither of the two lion is the one that was surrounded by hyenas. You can clearly see that the lion being attacked is much older, skinnier, and its mane is darker. I think this scene was edited to present a happier ending than what perhaps may have ended occuring. Apologies for the buzzkill but I really dislike it when documentaries treat us as if we aren't old enough to know it's a jungle out there.
@benadkins7695
@benadkins7695 3 жыл бұрын
@@noblessus That is the same lion in the pack, you don’t think it looks the same because the area where they were shooting Red being surrounded was more shaded. But in the finals shot all the might’ve done was bump of the saturation or the lions just happened to walk into a brighter patch of land.

I can’t believe no one is talking about the monkeys showing deep group empathy! I mean if it were an older more experienced male lion even 20 hyenas wouldn’t be trying to mess with it. This lion was just young and inexperienced, he wasn’t aggressive enough throughout the encounter so they got more bold. An older lion would have immediately charged before their numbers increased and taken out at least 1 or 2 hyenas and the rest would scatter. A male lion can kill a hyena in seconds if it knows what it’s doing and that alone makes the rest run for the hills. Just one quick bonecrushing bite to the back or neck paralyzes/kills a hyena.

Yeah, I remember seeing it for the first time. It was a doc about the Iguanas of Galápagos Is. That race to safety looked like a game, or a stuff from the nightmares. Yet it was the school pay for this Iguana. Mind boggling lesson, sports hour and the schoolyard bullying all pack together. When they caught it for awhile I thought I remembered it wrong. Lucky it wasn't an easy prey for them, maybe tough skin to sink their teeth in. But I remembered right, it escaped. Funny how your brain forgets the bad parts.

The last clip was heartwarming. Those hyenas looked like they were mocking the lion by laughing at him and playing around, not attacking immediately but teasing him and making him feel the terror and horror before it actually coming down at him. The way that other lion came and hushed them away and consoled him and they both just kinda hugged and layed there feeling grateful for each other🤍
@sherine9033
@sherine9033 Жыл бұрын
For us humans they may sound like they're laughing and mocking the lion but they're actually dead serious about killing that lion. Those sounds are not laughing sounds, those are their means of communication. Not only he was a threat that invaded their space, he was also big enough to feed the whole pack if they managed to kill him. Their bite strength is insane but they're still individually weaker than lions, hence they used their number to tire him down. They only truly attacked if one of their own was bitten by the lion to save their comrade. The pair of lion brothers was really touching that I teared up, but when I think about it hyenas are actually amazing as well. I'm really sad now because I read in the comment here that the lions were reported to be missing last year and presumed dead, idk the cause but perhaps they failed to claim their own pride.

It's a bad prophecy too. It's singing about it's demise. Chainsaws in that area destroy its habitat. If they would only cut a few trees, that would be OK. But too often they barber clean whole hillsides, and then erosion washes away the thin soil layer.
