I think about that. Like it goes for both sides. An animal could spend all it's energy hunting only to wind up exhausted and starved. But on the other hand having a bunch of animals biting you and ripping things away while you can't go anywhere is something.

The Sardine segment is quite possibly the single best piece of cinematography Ive ever seen!! The sweeping dramatic music and the amazing underwater camera work are absolutely brilliant. "This guy?" You mean David Attenborough, the most recognized, adored, famous nature documentary maker of all time? Not just his voice, but his face, he is way more famous and has been for way longer all around the world. He's a national treasure in the UK but I'm not from the UK and I've watched his documentaries all my life. I actually can't believe you would think he'd be interested in narrating the life of an actor- he is doing so much more important conservation work, not least making incredible documentaries like Blue Planet, Human Planet and many more which EVERYONE should watch.

This is the magic of evolution. A niche allows for a change in species size due to more prey, and then natural selection fills in the blanks to allow the species to take advantage of that greater size effectively. It's like nature is a vast neural network, but adapting on a scale of millennia rather than days/weeks.

It's interesting that we as humans developed the sensation of injustice when that happens by creating such wealth for all. All other reasoning and animal structure would understand that the right of the winner to spoils in a very resource restricted existence.
