After a heavy rain, I found a Star-Nosed Mole. I was ready to go to work, when I saw him in back of my car. So cute and unusual. The rain had stopped, I put him in my garden where he could dig and find good food. Never saw another one.

The first time I saw one of these was when my neighbor's cat caught one, I never realized how big they were compared to the average mole. 😮 It's a combination of cuteness and weirdness rolled into one. They make a mess of the yard but at the same time, since moving here 9 years ago we do not have any problems with the white beetle grubs killing our lawn. These guys eat them. So despite the work the skunks and moles create for us, the payment is worth it. ❤

The camera work since the last time they filmed moles has definitely improved a lot. Yeah I know these are probably made in terrariums but its still a recreation of real behaviors the moles do and how they do it so well.

It is amazing to think an animal like this exists on our diverse planet, it is also crazy to think that all mammals especially a mammal as adaptable as this will become extinct when the next super-continent, probably Pangea Proxima forms, long after we as a species dwindle
