The Juan Gone Insert was from my favorite year of Topps subset cards. Besides those nice Lords of the Diamonds, there also was Hands of Gold, Power Brokers, McGwire 70 set, & the awesome Auto series. Thanks for showing that was a fun half hour!

Is it better to store cards in top loaders or card savers? I've been away from the hobby for quite some time.

Depends on how you choose to collect. Card Savers are what you need to use when sending cards in to grade. So if you're a "grader", then card savers are find. If you're not going to put your cards in binders, then top loaders are preferred.

I burned out collecting cards. I read somewhere that baseball cards aren't going to be worth anything in the future because theres so many of them and theres no interest in the younger generations. I look at all the cards I have now and I wonder if it was a waste of time and money. Anybody got any words of encouragement? I've bottomed out

It's a more rare card that gets insert(ed) into a pack.

An insert is a card that is not part of the basic set from the packs the cards are issued from.
